Any comments on the following seven card stud hand? I'm learning the game and looking for comments on my play. Too aggressive on 4th street? Too weak on 7th st?

Sorry about the formatting, but the conveter didn't work on Paradise's hand history.

My only major complaint is third - you should be coming in for a raise. Jacks is a solid starting hand, but can easily be overtaken - you want to raise and try to keep too many people from coming into the pot (or at least charge them to do so).

I play the rest the same. Definitely reraise 4th, you want to be heads-up against the 8h3h. I would need a great read on villain (he'd have to be an ultra-loose donkey) to even think about betting 7th. For a typical player, usually if he calls your river bet, he'll have a hand that beats you more often than one that you beat.

Raise coming in on third (jacks are very vulnerable). Do not consider betting on 7th IMO (calling a bet is fine). Not a bad hand. 8)

In that .5/1 dollar game at paradise, there is no ante. So I've developed the habit of just calling with any starting hand, rather than raising, simply because a raise is so likely to only win the bring in. With this non-ante structure, do you still think a raise with jacks in the hole is a good play?

For what it's worth, this guy started with 8-3-8, so he made two pair on fourth street. So I was playing from behind the whole way.

Winning onloy the bring-in with a pair of jacks is a victory IMO. I hate jacks. Lol.

I've played on paradise, and loved the no ante 7-stud 8 game. Switched over to Absolute to get rakeback, and it has a low ante, which isnt much different. A higher ante you definately need to raise it up IMO. Low/no - table dependant I guess.
