Just started playing at Party $200NL.

I have $250 or so in front of me.
I get QQ in MP, raise it up to $7.

Only the BB calls, after letting his
timer go to almost 0.

BB's call leaves him with $62.

Flop comes 8 6 3, mixed suits.

BB checks. Hero??

Anyone think about moving him in here?

My thoughts there were that if he's going to
be on a draw, might as well make him pay
to chase it early, since if you let him get to the
turn cheaply and he doesn't improve, he'll just
throw it away. Also, pot now has $15 in it, and
it wouldn't be such a bad thing to take the pot
down at this point. Or, am I way off base, and
making what would be considered a "gaybet"..lol

I'd bet the pot and see what happens.

Same thing, just pot it. He might come over the top ALL IN with AK or AQ with a short stack. If he has AA or KK he is going to get your money whether you pot/call all in or go all in right away.

If he's got AA or KK, doesn't he usually re-raise preflop?

I wasn't giving him credit for anything nearly that strong.

w/o reading replies.

why ?

BB called 5 more...so he had "implied" odds to hit his set.
If you push now... what's going to call you that he likely has ?

Sets.
A8 suited maybe..but really doubt

If he's an idiot who calls anything, pushing would be good.
But you don't have a read that strong.

I'd bet the pot.

after reading replies:

Close anyway.
I don't feel so bad at NL anymore!

Sometimes, people like to get fancy and smooth call if it's heads-up.

I'm with everyone else. Bet $12-15.
