3/6 five

i'm SB with K icon_suit_club.gif K icon_suit_spade.gif .
UTG limps, CO raises, Button folds, i three-bet, BB folds, UTG cold-calls, CO calls.

UTG is very loose passive, he's a chaser. don't have specific numbers.
CO is new, but seems average (traces of TAG, traces of TPP).

(10 SB) J icon_suit_spade.gif 9 icon_suit_spade.gif 4 icon_suit_diamond.gif
i bet, UTG calls, CO raises, i call, UTG calls.

(8 BB) 6 icon_suit_diamond.gif
i check, UTG checks, CO bets, i raise, UTG cold-calls, CO calls.

i ...

so, UTG is very straightforward. he bets when he has it generally (he even raised my bet with a flopped boat with 9-2 when the board was 9-2-2 and he was directly on my left).

so far, i've put CO on a hand that i beat... anything from AJ to KJ to QQ to JJ to TT, whatever. i don't really care much about him.

the thing is, i've been putting UTG on either any pair (e.g. he's calling down) or a draw. the best two draws would be a spade draw that missed (he's folding anyway) or a straight draw with Q-10 that got there.

what is my action?

i want to value bet against CO but need to know if UTG hit his draw.

sorry, i'm feeling braindead.

sorry aseem, i cant help you..I look to YOU for advice, lol..I would bet/call personally..but im a donk.

well, if i check, i find out for the cheapest price is UTG hit his draw.

but, CO might check behind if UTG missed.

at the time, i didn't think UTG bluffed rivers on missed draws.

if i bet, UTG would raise if he hit, which might make CO fold a worse hand (lose value from that) and make me pay two bets to pay off UTG. i could bet/fold, but personally i think a set of kings is a little too damn strong for that. no, in fact, bet/folding here is completely insane.

so do i check/raise or bet out? that's what i'm confused about.

Make it easy on yourself and bet/call a UTG raise. I think it's silly to be so afraid of Q10 that you would miss a value bet.

c/r isnt the wisest since there is a draw out there if they held q10...imo you should defiantly bet out..and then just call the raise if there is one. theres only one hand your worried about
rog
Of all the hands you have UTG on, there's only 1 you need to worry about. I'd bet out. Strictly from the numbers, he's far more likely to have a flush draw than Q-10, not to mention the possibility of a pair.

i think a bet-call is the best line here... if he's got it he's got it, but if not i think you're missing on a lot of value from both players

ok, thanks.

this is obvious, right? i'm just tired, i think.

anyway, bet is what i did. UTG folded, and CO raised, i three-bet, he capped.

KJ no good!

yessssss...

I must be, too.

Why aren't you 3-betting the flop?

Would UTG call getting 5.5:1 immediate chasing a Str8 with 2-2 card flushes out there? I guess QT icon_suit_diamond.gif is possible.

I'd lead the river.
and reluctantly call one back.

i chose not to three-bet the flop because i felt strongly that CO had a pair and would bet when checked to 100% of the time on the turn, and that UTG had some draw, and i wanted to protect my hand from his possible gutshots and whatnot.

as a side benefit--and i'm not sure if this reasoning is flawed--after i checked the turn, if UTG bet out, i would be quite sure that i was beat at the time (since he was very straightforwardly passive), and calling down would be cheaper.
