There's no CP forum, so the HE forum is acceptably close enough? Plus, we need a little spice around here.

Paradise 1/2 Limit Crazy Pineapple (8-handed)

Cobalt is CO w/ K icon_suit_club.gif Q icon_suit_heart.gif Q icon_suit_spade.gif. Just joined the table.

Pre-flop:
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, BB checks

Flop (7 SB): Q icon_suit_diamond.gif 4 icon_suit_diamond.gif 3 icon_suit_diamond.gif (7 players)
4 checks, MP2 bets

Cobalt discards K icon_suit_club.gif.

Turn (7.5 BB): T icon_suit_spade.gif (4 players)
SB bets

...

I think I probably played this one too passively. Pre-flop, I think call/raise is close. I've got a big pair and I'm in LP, but I generally prefer to be suited. If that K is suited to one of the queens, I'm raising in an instant. On the flop, I would've bet if checked to, but with the bet right in front of me, I wanted to wait for a safe turn. The turn's safe, but the SB's check-raise on the flop screams flush.

limping preflop is fine.

calling the flop bet is fine.

just calling the checkraise is terrible.

come on, cobalt, you know all about equity edges.

don't be a fish and think "i'm beat by a flush". of course you are, but that doesn't mean a raise isn't profitable.

you know how to play better than this.

do it, cobalt. do it.

aseem

p.s. turn is fine.

Blah. Yeah, yeah, I know. I've just taken such a long break from LHE (3 weeks) that I think I'm sometimes playing too passively with draws. Looking back at this, 3-betting the flop is obvious.

Crazy Pineapple is just so crazy soft that I'm not even having to play my A game to be making crazy profit.

What's the winrate and variance like in crazy pineapple?
Also, is there any good stuff to read on the internet about it?
econ_tim
speaking of crazy pineapple, i was playing PL crazy pineapple with Aseem and two other people once.

I had K icon_suit_heart.gif Q icon_suit_heart.gif Q icon_suit_club.gif UTG and I bet the pot. Button folds, Aseem calls from SB and BB folds.

Flop A icon_suit_heart.gif T icon_suit_heart.gif 4 icon_suit_club.gif

Aseem checks. What do you bet? What do you discard depending on Aseem's action?

bacon, I'm not entirely sure as I don't have PT. I'll have to check my crude stats when I get home this afternoon. I know that so far I've run $200 to $550 in two weeks primarily playing 1/2 LCP for an hour or so per day. So, that's what...almost 10 BB/hr? As it's somewhere between Omaha and HE, I'd guess that the variance is also less than HE and more than Omaha.

I really don't know why it's not a more popular game. If the WSOP ever added it as an event, I'd be all over it...even though I'm still a newbie at the moment.

tim, I say bet the pot. If he doesn't fold, he's probably got an ace. Go for the monster draw. Re-evaluate on the turn. Then again, I'm a sucker for the draw when I think the other guy's made.

Just looked at my CP stats...it's probably somewhere closer to 7 BB/hr...which is still quite nice. That's only ten sessions though, so take it with a grain of salt.
