Easy fold preflop. T99 is very weak in Stud8...and I am not an expert in this game either. Some schools of thought tell you to muck KKx preflop even.

Must fold on 3rd.
Two tens are dead, along with a 9. You don't have any low draw, and even your straight draws are limited by the fact that two sevens and an eight are out. You can find much better starting positions than this one IMHO.

HOW DID YOU MAKE THIS FINAL TABLE?????? THAT IS A FOLD WITHOUT QUESTION 99 percent of the time. Medium and even big pairs are usually no good, as you are almost always drawing to just half the pot.

im my defense i'd like to point out that it looks like I started with the best high hand, plus I had a lot of chips at this point and could afford to make a semi-loose call.
but then again stud is far from my best game, so Im sure Im prone to making a lot of bad mistakes.

It doesn't matter. If ANY player is drawing to a low, you are in a bad situation, as you are vulnerable to being scooped. In the long run, you WILL lose money by playing medium or big pairs too much. This is an easy fold.

yes. the player who hit the full house had no business playing towards a high, but that doesn't matter. you should fold it pre-flop. you should have folded every street until that third 9 hit. in stud hi/lo you should always be playing towards the low except with AA or with three high suited cards.
good luck

It's a $1 tourney, so you are probably up against at least 5 donkeys who have no concept of Stud 8.
You my friend, were not unlucky here, as you should not have been playing the hand in the first place. Stud 8 is about scooping. Your hand has 0 percent chance of scooping the pot. If you are not able to scoop the pot, you must be extremely strong in one direction to play a hand.
A pair of nines with a ten kicker, with a nine and a ten already out, plus an 8 and two 7's (to make you a straight) are also gone.
Easiest fold on third street you probably saw all tournament.
