Hey danny, new to this site. I've been keeping up with your blogs. I don't really know anything much about this site, but I assumed this was the only real way I could ever contact you. I play lots of magic: tg like your friend David Williams (and a few others). I think you're an amazing player, and I love your style. That being said, I'm pretty confident I'm better than 90% of the people in the world. However, I'm relatively poor at the moment, and have been having to cash out a lot in my UltimateBet acct, not to mention busy with school and being a teenager. I don't really know what I'm asking. I'd like to talk to you more about random strategy, tournaments, or even try to prove to you just how good of a player I am. But I can almost guarantee by the time I'm 21 that I'll be as good or better than you are. I know that's a very big boast, but I'm extremely confident in my abilities. I'm sure you know from experience that people who played magic seriously for a few years tend to be great poker players. The two games overlap well when it comes to reading opponents, bluffing, strategies, etc. I don't know David personally, but I know him through friends, etc. The Magic: tg community is generally a friendly one. I've never played on the Pro Tour, but thats only because Alabama is really awful for playtesting. However, I'm confident that I could play Magic at a professional level, not to mention poker when I do turn 21. If you'd like to know more about me, I'd love to talk to you. You're the only player I really look up to besides Dolly. If you get the chance, please email me at weenius@hotmail.com. I'd like to try to somehow prove to you that I'm good, and maybe we could be friends? Who knows. Also, I'm looking to get into a crowd like Dutch and his "crew." The one thing about Magic and Poker is that you can only get better by playing with great players. When I turn 21 I plan on moving to Vegas and trying to make a living. Anyways, I really hope you read this.

i also have 3 +12 swords of smiting that i can use simeoultaneously because i have a 3rd Arm of Giant Like Proportions that the wizard Vrazntais put an opposoble thumb on. It is also great for working the clit during sex. But i will just cut you into pieces of pie with these.

A good idea before calling him Danny, whining about being broke, and writing all that, would have been to contribute here, in the strategy forum for example, and then prove your value to him as he reads it. Maybe then he would have invited you to his house for a little chit chat, as it's my understanding he has done it more than once.
Edit this pathetic first post and try that instead.
Welcome to the forum. The flames above and below are part of the package.

What does that mean? Post of the Day? Or something very degrading? I don't know the slang on this site yet. Yeah I did whine about being a bit poor, sorry. It isn't like I begged him to bankroll me or anything. I was just saying that I currently can't afford to enter large tournaments and/or cash games, but I'm doing ok at lesser no-limit games. However I did play 5-10 NL on UltimateBet.com for the better part of a month and make 15K. Most of that went into my new car, not to mention Christmas gifts, etc. I had to cash out most of it and now I can only afford to play 1-2 NL at the moment. However I'm building my bankroll back up slowly. Again I apologize to all you guys who hated this post, but I don't really know any other way to contact Daniel. It was a long shot that he would even consider emailing me or replying, but if there was even a small chance, it was worth it.

You sound sincere so welcome to the forum :-)
Breaking up your post into multiple paragraphs would help the readers
There are a lot of posters on this site besides Daniel who can probably help your game. A few of them have made the move to Vegas like you are contemplating.

I flopped a straight and lost 150 to runner runner flush. I lost 200 when I flopped a set against better set. And my AK lost to AJ when flop was AAJ. So yeah, very very terrible day for me.....so i'm probably not gonna play for a while. Just ridiculous beats, making me sick.

They are giving you crap because of your post. Besides that...your sig doesn't help. Nobody likes a c0cky little prick. You have built yourself up with no rep to back it up. A little hint, don't brag on yourself unless you can back it up. Also, if you give up on poker because you had 1 bad day, you probably should reconsider moving to Vegas to be a professional player. Who can overcome the adversity and make themselves better because of it, seperates the pros from the wannabes.

OK this sounds like a classic. "I'm gonna take my ball and go home."
Look, OP try to get past the flames and see the light. I see it this way, if you leave this forum, we win (no more of your whining, bragging, "Magic crapola"). If you stay in this forum, we win (e.g. target rich environment). So as you see, we have flopped the nuts and put you all in.
My advice is to 1) grow up a little 2) thicken your skin 3) try sticking around a little longer and you might even enjoy it here.
BTW - don't count on "Danny" rolling up in the limo to your white pillared Alabama mansion any time soon.
After all, you never hear of the guru coming DOWN the mountain to meet with those with the questions, do you??

I never asked danny to come to me. i just don't know how to contact him other than posting here and submitting emails to him. Most of the things I said were meant to grab attention, and it worked. The only problem is that it grabbed everyone else's attention. The only reason I even mentioned magic is b/c David Williams is friends with Danny and he played magic for a long time. The same goes for John Murphy, who also did well in last year's main event. I wasn't trying to brag saying that magic essentially made me better than everyone....just that the two games compare rather well in a lot of aspects. I'm not going to leave the forum. Also, the best part about someone flopping the nuts and betting all-in is I can always fold. So here it is:
*Weenius folds his AA."
Nice play. You got me. Obviously everyone in this forum is far more skilled than me, and far more intelligent. Is this what you wanted to hear?

To the OP:
1. Glad that you're sticking around
2. I'm glad also that you removed the boast from your Sig - you're just asking for it with the Sig that you previously had.
3. If you have read DN's blog posts, you can call him Daniel..and you can call him Dan but please don't call him "Danny"
4. I'm almost thru Barry Greenstein's book "Ace on the River" - he mentions that having a thick skin is necessary for a winning poker player. See how helpful this forum is?
5. A little bit of humility goes a long way
6. And of course, Good Luck at the tables!

I think of bankroll math as meaning that he wants to have a certain sized roll before playing whatever limit he plays. He moved down because his bankroll shrank, implying some knowledge of bankroll management, but then stayed at 1-2 long enough to lose the remainder of his roll without moving down.
