Alabama CRUSHES Florida, which beat Tennessee, which beat LSU, which beat Arizona St. (in arizona), which either beats USC or gives USC a very close game (game isn't over yet)........so therefore, Alabama is bound for the national title. No questions asked....discuss.

Fold pf. Since you raised, fold the flop. Because you called, fold the turn. Because you c/r, fold the river. Just fold this whole post.
exdubliner
Florida had a bad game. A very bad game. And Alabama is probably better than them. But saying they're headed to the national championship is ludicrous. Have Alabama play USC or Texas or Virginia Tech. They'll get crushed.
GrinderMJ
Even when you try to make a normal post taht isn't about how good you are at stud or how bad DN is, you still do it like a retard.

Buy USC struggled to beat the same team that LSU beat, which lost to Tennessee, which lost to Florida, which is not nearly as good as Alabama. It all makes perfect senes!!!!!!!! Alabama wins the NATIONAL TITLE!! IT IS DESTINY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Florida had a bad game because the Alabama defense manhandled them all day. Also, our O-Line manhandled them all day. There is no way, after watching that whipping, you can say that Alabama is only "probably" better than them. Florida is a VERY good team with an excellent defense, and we just beat them down like little b1tches. Don't try and downplay it, Alabama just sent a major message.

Here's an analogy. The Devil Rays manhandled the Yankees this entire season. The Yankees beat the Red Sox who beat the Orioles and Blue Jays, so by your insensate logic that makes the Devil Rays the best team in the AL East and deserving of a playoff birth despite the fact that they are dead last in the division. You're argument is completely absurd.

Um...no. They are good, playing like a top 10 team, but no one is going to beat USC this year. Although I pray that Texas can.

Just like "no one" was gonna beat FSU the year that Oklahoma beat them for their national title a few years back. USC was exposed bit-time by a "good" ASU team. You honestly think that ASU is THE second best team in college football??? I can guarantee you that there is a better team out there that can beat USC on any given day. Doesn't mean they would dominate them or even beat them more times then not, but don't be fooled by the media into believing they are "unbeatable." They have played several close games and were beaten for two quarters very soundly by ASU. And once again, ASU isn't THAT good. They are good, but not a national title contender this year. No reason to think USC can't lose. Are they the best team right now?? Probably. Are they unbeatable?? No.

Come on now, do you think I am being 100 percent serious with this obviously flawed argument....? No. I am not. I DO, however, feel that Alabama was (and probably still is) a vastly underrated team that has everyone back from the No. 2 defense in the nation last year and gets all of our injured offensvie players from last year back (starting QB, top two RBs, starting FB, and a starting lineman...). So I do think they have a very good chance at winning the SEC, because every other SEC team has looked a bit vulnerable at some point.

My moneys on the Vols.

Go Big Orange!

That's all.

You can't really compare an FSU team from a few years ago with the current USC team. Different teams, different years, different schedules, so what's the use. What I know is that USC is the best team in college football right now. Please let me know where I said ASU is the second best team in NCAA, as I have absolutely no idea where you made that conclusion from. So what if they were a bit exposed? They still won the game, did they not. They don't have to win by 30-40 points every game to be the best team in the nation. They are the best team until they lose. ASU might not be a title contender, but they are a top 25 team at this point in time, so they're not exactly slouches, either. I don't need the media to "fool" me into what I believe, I have two eyes and I can see it myself. And no I don't believe that USC is unbeatable, but other than playing at Notre Dame and at Cal, I don't see anyone on that schedule that could convince me otherwise.
KowboyKoop
pretty much everyone else has said that USC is "unbeatable." If you did not say so, then fine, I have no beef. I never said that USC wasn't the best team right now, I know that. But the consensus among others is that USC has a zero percent chance of losing this year. That is simply wrong, as any teams that struggles against Oregon and ASU is "beatable." That is all.
GodOfEntropy
Alabama has a good team, but I do not see them in company of USC or even Texas. When USC wants to decimate another team, there is no stopping them - see today's 2nd half.

An important clarification note that I want to make is to let you know how much I hate USC. I can't stand them. I went to the `03 Orange Bowl (Iowa/USC), and have prayed for them to lose ever since. I hope Notre Dame kicks the snot out of them. But I also won't say that they aren't the best team in the NCAA until someone finally beats them.

I posted this in the other college football thread but it applies here as well.

lol you USC fans are funny. You think you could pull those second half comebacks against real opponents? It really is a shame your team is in the second censored big conference. There is no way this team would win out IN the SEC, the Big Ten or the ACC.... Your toughest competition is ASU, or maybe ND i guess.... but ASU lost to what the 5th or 6th ranked SEC team, yea thats some solid competition in the PAC10 there.

I'm so tired of everyone in California suddenly hoping on the USC bandwaggon too, god its annoying to put up with these fair-weather fans. Not saying anyone in this thread is necessarily, but the bandwaggon is aproaching its capacity I think. I sure hope the 2 weeks of planning Charile Weis has will help ND bring USC back down to earth... heres hoping.

As for Alabama, the saddest thing is that even if they win out, they might not necessarily make the NC game, in fact it could be quite hard. besides ND USC has a bunch of pancakes left on their schedule, so them going undefeated garauntees them a spot in the title game. Texas also has very little competition left in its way to an undefeated record. If these two teams win out they will be in the NC based on the lamest thing ever, preseason polls. even if one of those 2 don't win out, Vtech is still ahead in the polls as well, which would put them in the NC game if they can win out and one of the top 2 falter. It would be a real sham if the SEC got ****ed two years in a row, if they do manage to send out another undefeated team.

Whoever in the thread that said Texas/USC/Vtech would destroy Alabama, you sir are a moron. If you followed college football at all you wouldn't be the least bit surprised by how Alabama is doing, and furthermore if you read anything about college football you would see that countless experts had Alabama as a sleeper pick to be a serious contender this year. Now don't go thinking I'm some Alabama homer, I'm a Michigan fan, but to discount the talent on that team is ridiculous. As far as I'm concerned any team besides the Wolverines can go get cancer, but I really feel for the SEC, if they have another undefeated team that doesn't get into the NC I would be furious, extremely furious.

I also must say that just because USC hasn't lost doesn't make them the best team in the country. In fact I don't even think they were the best team in the country last year, Auburn was. Too bad the NCAA is too damn stubburn to have a playoff system. or too bad we have retarded pre-season rankings, which pretty much garauntee NC births to the pre-season favorites if they don't **** up, lame.

well said. Alabama has ALOT of talent on both sides of the ball. People just don't realize it b/c alot of them were hurt last year. And yes, I agree with you on the Pac-10, it is MAYBE the third best conference, but even that might be generous. I think the SEC is the best this year, although I am admittedly a bit biased. But five teams in the top 15 coming into this week, not too bad....
monsterrain
not to rain on the bama parade or anything, but their best player was carted off the field after his theisman-esque broken leg today. On a 4th and 5 deep pass, up 28 points, with 9 min to go. Rather silly in hindsight i gotta say.

still got a good squad, and very well might win the SEC, but it just got a whole lot tougher......maybe needlessly. You bama fans will be arguing over that ad nauseum this week.

Prothro is NOT our best player. He is our most explosive, but with our receivers D. J Hall, and Brown, and our RBs Darby, Castille, and McClain, and our QB Croyle, our offense is fine. Besides, it was our defense that won and controlled the game. Yes, losing him hurts, but it doesn't make it that much tougher.

Also, to say that it was stupid to leave him in AFTER the fact that he gets injured is stupid. Yeah, unfortunate, but there is no way that a coach should take out every single important player when a game turns in to a bit of a rout??? Never gonna happen, risk is just part of the game, nothing you can do to control it.

Maybe. 'Bama plays in a much tougher conference, but VT has looked awfully good. Both teams have one REALLY good win (bama vs. florida and VT versus Georgia Tech), so it is hard to say which team in better right now. Don't allow the media hyping up Marcus Vick allow you to automatically think VT is better.

Also, you are from Florida and are probably just bitter that Alabama showed your boys how to play football. God DAMN that was an ass-whooping!!!!!

I do like Bama, and they are looking good, but my vote right now goes to Texas as the best team in football. If you don't agree, that's fine, but no doubt Texas looks tough.

USC still gets my vote for best team. But they are not "unbeatable"
