Paradise runs a 150 dollar O8B event every so often, i played this week and finished four off the money (top five paid). I dont think anyone plays on Paradise here, or i would've put up a message while i was playing. Anyway, this is how it went down.
We're at the final table, 45 entries total i believe, and i'm 6 out of 9. One of the bigger stacks had been raising most of the pots he played, and sure enough, he raises from middle position while i'm the SB. He hadn't turned up too many solid starting hands, mostly half high half low hands like A 3 9 10. So i have KK23, one of spades. blinds were 200/400, and he bet 1400. i had 4700 and decided my hand was good enough to push, unfortunately he called quickly and showed A234 double suited. ehh. Flop was A 3 6 and thta was all she wrote.
Would you have done the same? Now that i think about it maybe a better play would've been call the 1200 to me ( i was small) and look for a better flop to push. Before i went all in, i couldn't help but think, "i have kings with a low draw, and if the ace hits, i've got the nut low draw". Ahh, so much for that plan, eh?
payout was pretty decent, 480 to fifth, 2500 to first i think.
BTW the omaha tournies on paradise are usually 15 to 20 dollar buy ins and all are so so soft. I got third in a large PLO earlier, that's what funded my entry here.
