is this any good?? i think the limp is acceptable with position, and i think the flop and turn were ok... but what about the river check?? i have a feeling i missed a very easy value bet here, but i was afraid that the low draws could have hit a wheel or something.... ive never played much o8 but i wanna learn.

thanks alot

meh.. you clowns take a year to give an o8 donk a little advice.... the more that i think of it, the more i think i should have value bet this given the action... but im still not sure if thats right or not.

either way, i got second on my first omaha hi low outing, so im happy enough... id recommend o8 sng's at the lower levels, as if i can beat them on my first try (ive read nothing but aseem's manual on it a few months ago) then anyone can... no idea how to play heads up though so i blew a 2-1 chip lead... but oh well.

a value bet only works in omaha 8 if you think you have a good chance to scoop the pot or if both players still in were going to call you. In this case I think checking is good, 2 pair in omaha 8 isnt the greatest hand ever, you could easily have been up against a lower set, or as you pointed out possibly a str8 draw that hit on the river. Your a7 low could be good, but you could also be up against a wheel or str8 that is going to scoop the whole pot. I think checking here is the right play
jayistheman
yeah.. i initially thought that, and thanks for helping to confirm it.

i think i was just skewed by the results, actually...
