Hi, I've been playing poker for a year, mainly small buy-in tournaments with my friends. I consider to start playing online and there's that promotion with pacific poker where I can get two poker books for free if i sign-up.

I'd like to have your advice on what books among this list I should choose. I will play small limit online and keep playing small buy-in tourneys with my friends. I read on this forum that many of you recommend Harrington's book. As a second choice, I think of SS2 or Slansky's small stakes hold'em. Do you have any advice for me ?

THanks

Lee Jones--Winning Low Limit Hold'em and maybe Slansky Theory of Poker depending on how far along you are in your game.

I sent an email to know if the offer for 2 free books is still available but the adress doesnt exist anymore . Does someone know if it is actually a real offer ? Or has it ended ? Anyway thanks
CBass
Yes, the offer is still available. My buddy signed up a month ago, go his books 2 weeks ago. I signed up right after he got his books (wanted to make sure it was legit), and I got my 2 books (Super System 1 and Theory) on Friday.

Plus, i made $30 playing... so it was a great deal if you ask me. laugh.gif

Care to elaborate on what exactly you guys are talking about?? I've been meaning to pick up a few books, and if I can pick up a couple for free, that would be great.

Thanks.

If you're going to choose two books purchase The Theory of poker by Sklansky and Super System II. But please do not let these be the only books you read. Read good books and go back and peruse them again. Remember buying poker books is an investment people who go to the tables without educating themselves first will be paying a very steep price for their lessons in the school of hard knocks from which they may never graduate.

I would definitley recommend the Harrinton book. It is by far my favorite poker book. I am already on my second time through it. I have been concentrating on tournaments lately, so it has really helped. Which by the way, I am thinking of letting go of my ring game books, so if any of you are thinking of purchasing those, let me know first and maybe we can work out a better deal than Amazon. Got to take care of the FCP'ers. I have most of the Lederer dvds too, so maybe somebody can kill a few birds with one stone, and I will do a package deal. Not trying to be a spammer or anything, but figured some people might be able to save some money. Regardless, back to the point of this post, the Harrington book is a must if you are a tourney player.
