$100 PL Omaha Hi/Lo (3-handed)
BB (Hero) ( $97.20 )
SB ( $90.30 )
Button ( $114.95 )

Dealt to Hero [ Kh Th Kd 9s ]
Button raises [$3.50].
SB calls [$3].
Hero calls [$2.50].

** Dealing Flop ** [ Ks, 6h, Jh ]
SB checks.
Hero checks.
Button bets [$10].
SB raises [$30].
Hero is all-In [$93.70]

READ: Button is not an very aggressive player, so his PF raise suggests a strong hand.

Two questions:

1) I think this is worth a call PF, right? Pot was laying a little over 3-1.

2) Flop push ok, or should I try to milk this a bit more? I decided to push the flop because I figured I could be in trouble if an A, Q, or T hits the turn, and a low card wouldn't be great for my equity either. (Plus a heart could give somebody else a nut flush, even if it's unlikely 3-handed.) I think the push was okay, since the opponents were showing enough strength that I figured I could get called anyway, but does anybody like a call or a smaller reraise better?

I think it's okay to play preflop, but if the button is tight, it could go either way.

I like the push, but you could be up against AA with the nut flush draw.

I think the people on here are going to tell you to see the turn cheaply though.

Fold this preflop.

This is a terrible, terrible, terrible, preflop call. It's like calling 3 bets cold in the BB with 27o in limit Holdem.

Having made this horrendus preflop call, you're right to get all in on this flop out of position.

good luck.

Yes Smash, this is like calling three bets cold with 27 off. I'm thankful we have you around.

It's a marginal call preflop, but I think it coud go either way.

Smash can stand on his soap box all day, doesn't make him right.

Hi. You have absolutely no idea how to play PLO8.

If you're winning, which is possible, it's because you're playing in games so good that all the other players understand it even *less* than you do. Granted that seems somewhat unlikely if you think this is a borderline call preflop, but possible.

Smash has made almost a quarter of a million dollars playing PLO8 the last 5 years. How have you done?

good luck.

Norton thinks it's funny Smash talks in 3rd person.

back to the topic of this thread

you don't call preflop because you have a high-only hand, and a marginal one at that

i probably fold this to a PFR in omaha high, where it has much more equity, and it is a clear fold in O8

Pretty poor call pre-flop short handed. If you want to justify it, at least use an argument based on the deepness of stacks rather than the measly pot odds! In a fuller game with several players in before the button raise, I would be tempted to call this based on an expectation of more lower cards being dead. Notwithstanding positional concerns, this is the sort of hand that you can use to break someone (else) if it hits.

Post flop, I would hope to check/call and get my money in on the turn as long as an A or a T hasn't come. When SB re-pops then you either have to go all in or fold, since if you just call you will be getting the right odds to call for the rest of your money on the turn anyway (assuming the bettor is still in).
