Just realized it's a Hi/lo stud tourney so ive got even less chance of doing respectably in it.

Patience is the key...play to scoop. Let the other players go to war over and draw for the half the pot. Look for suited baby cards and small straights first and foremost. If your gonna play for half the pot make sure you have a top notch hand...for low, make sure you have a smooth low draw. For high, look to start with trips, big pairs (pref. in a hand with few players) and big flush cards with redraws to a straight or other strong high hand.

Stud h/l is a game of patience. Most players play far too many hands to chase for half the pot. Pick your spots wisely and jam when you've got the goods. There is no shame in picking half the pot now and then, but don't pay too heavy to draw to half the pot.

And toss your hand on fifth street if you dont have a made hand or an extremely solid draw.

Good luck.

Only play hands with scooping potential, OR are huge hands in one direction (ie. rolled up trips).

Sitting out 7 out of 10 hands is not tight in Stud Hi/Lo. 8)
