I heard a horrible, vicious, nasty story that they are planning a Godfather sequel. New writer/producer, named Godfather's Revenge? Heard it on the AM radio yesterday. Anyone heard anything about this? I saw nothing on IMDB. They said the setting would be staged later in time, and the assassination of JFK would be in the story. I must go now so I can heave.

Yuck...Was there a Puzzo book based in that time period? I read The Godfather and The Las Don, but nothing else by him.

Well, it can't be as bad as The Godfather Part III.....Can it?

part III was a good movie. and this is probly not happeneing. just a rumor.

Part III was decent, but it was such a drop off from the original two movies that it makes it awful in my book. To each it's own though. :-)

Puzzo is dead, so I wouldn't expect good things about a new movie.

i agree that part 3 was good. it gets a really bad rep because it doesnt live up to the other two, but what movie really does? the one thing that probably really hurt 3 was the casting decisions of some of the new characters introduced. when people like brando, cain, de niro, duvall, and cazale are out of the picture and you introduce joe mantegna, garcia, and sofia coppola there is going to be a serious drop off. the story for part 3 was magnificent though

i agree the plot of 3 had every bit of the potential of 1-2. just wasn't executed or cast nearly as well.

They had a contest to see who was the most qualified to write the next book in the Godfather series, and I believe it was a professor in some university down in Florida who penned the book. The movie will probably be an adaption of that.

Sorry guys, I did not leave out the SW. I heard this on the news/talk radio. Absolutely no hesitation in their voices. Since Puzo is deceased they did say that obviously there will be a new writer. I agree with everyone here. 3 was well written but severly hampered by a legacy that is impossible to live up to. The impending part 4 will destroy that legacy! This must stop!

if they are really going to make a fourth, then they should just throw everything out the window and make sonny still be alive and he is the new godfather. if they are goingto destroy the godfather, then i at least want to see sonny again.
