$10+1 MTT - 364 entrants.

There are 12 people left and I am in 3rd place with 56K in chips. Blinds are at 500/1000. I am in 3rd position. The player in 1st position has 28K in chips and raises to 8K. The chip leader is in 2nd position and re-raises and goes all in. I am next with QQ. I folded and so did everyone else. The chip leader later told me he had AK suited.

What do you guys think? Should I of called?

Tough one....but if you definately feel that you have an edge on the chip leader....then you fold there....

Tough one though...real tough.
Whiskey16
Real tough, because at best you're probably hoping for a coin flip there, which you would have had, but he easily could have turned over AA or KK. You have a good amount of chips compared to the blinds, so you could afford to wait.

I think you made a very good fold.

good laydown..

but the correct play is to post this in the strategy forum, as you will get much better analysis there.

My bad. As you can see I am new to the forums here.

Without any knowledge about the chip leader I probably fold.

Had I been at the table for awhile,

seen his actions and some showdowns,

could be a different story.

np.. im not one that really cares about keeping the forum "clean" like some people around here... it's the mod's job.. just pointing out that there are alot of trolls and idiots in the general forum (there are some good ones too, but u know what i mean), and you get better answers in the strat forum.

when i get in these situations online i tell myself to slow down and ask myself what I can beat here. IMO, there is only 1 hand(or 2 depending on the player) that I would like to get my money in with against. I find it hard to believe that the chip leader would overplay a hand like AQs, JJ, or TT in this spot. SO unless you are sure that you have your opponent dominated, I would muck it and move on.

on a side note, I seem to notice that when I get into these situations live, I find it a much easier fold than I do online. I think one of the reasons is that I see my hole cards online right as I get them as oppose to looking at them when its my turn, live. i tend to be more PROACTIVE with my moves online when I see my cards early than REACTIVE live when I've seen all this action before me.

He (the chip leader) mixed his game up quit well. But about 10 hands later he was still the chip leader and the guy in 2nd place doubled up off him after he called an all in with 99 vs KK. He said he had AK suited but you can only take that for what its worth.

I live in Utah, only live games I can play are 2 and half hours away in Wendover, Nevada. So basically I am playing online 98% of the time. But I see what you are saying.

Man that raise to 8k was a huge overbet.

As far as your situation, I like folding. Calling with kings, mucking with queens.

Yeah I cant believe he folded after that raise to 8K. I sure would of liked to see how the hand would of played out.
