Dell I believe has a promotion running with free flat panel upgrades on certain desktops - plus they are a lot more respected than tigerdirect. Have you checked out the 'hot deals' forum on fatwallet? There are usual some good links there

Can we assume no gaming will be done on this computer? If so, you obviously don't want something with integrated graphics. If you have your own graphics card, that'll be fine, so long as the graphics card is PCI Express. If you want something w/ better graphics, I would think you could find something.
