Full Version: when to not follow a fish?

Hello, this will be my second query on this forum. I mostly ask question in the biggest swedish forum online but this one I wanted so share here as well.

I play mostly no limit holdem online. But for the past few weeks I have started to play fixed again. It has gone really well for me but I have one question. There is a player who is a complete maniac and he plays so bad my mother whould have beaten him. The problem is that when he goes up in limit I am not sure I can follow him beacuse of the increasing fluctuations in my bankrool.

I can stand to play him at 3/6 but when he moves to 5/10 it starts to hurt me and I have to leave. Not beacuse of him but beacuse of the other players. The same thing happens sometimes at 3/6 as well when really good players drop from 5/10 10/20 to play against this fish.

Shall I stick around and try and beat him with the risk of loosing my bankrool. Or should I just leave him alone for now focusing on lower limits and hope that he still will be there when I have an adequate bankrool to stand the swings?

If there are some spelling misstakes I am sorry, but I am from sweden smile.gif

There are plenty of fish in the sea... why follow one to a shark's nest?
