Ultimate Bet 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with [Ac], [8s].
7 folds, Hero calls.

I'm thinking simple steal attempt as I haven't played too many hands since I sat down.

Flop: (4 SB) [As], [5c], [Jd] (3 players)
SB bets, SB calls.

raising to check strength of hand

Turn: (4 BB) [Ad] (3 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Perhaps a pocket pair. I'm thinking if I call he will bet out on the river and I can raise him at that point as he may fold to a raise here.

River: (6 BB) [4s] (3 players)
SB bets, SB calls.

Final Pot: 10 BB

looks ok.

i sometimes three-bet preflop.

i also sometimes wait for the turn to raise.

and, this is player-dependent, i sometimes don't raise at all to win the maximum from hands that are way behind and to lose the minimum to hands that are way ahead.

one problem with your turn call - river raise line is that a flush draw is introduced on the turn, and i think you would be uncomfortable raising a diamond river. but, your reasoning for calling the turn is sound.

i think you played it fine
im guessing he had an ace also (or a pocker pair for a FH)

what full house is he calling with on the river rather than raising?

doubt he has an ace based on his play... perhaps trying to represent an ace...

How does villian play when folded to him on the button or in the SB? I tend to reraise this hand PF and bet out on the flop if villian tends to open raise mediocre hands on the button and SB.

Ended up winning with the SB having pocket Kings
