I wasnt even involved in this hand.....but since I have seen some skepticism about unlikely situations online and live I thought I would share it.
2/5 NL (200 max buy in) table. 9 players.
My buddy is on the button with about 160 in chips and he is JUST STEAMING from a bad beat. He has QQ. UTG +1 is the biggest stack at the table and he is a complete donk. CO is a solid player and he has about 160 as well.
Big stack raises pre flop to 25. CO just calls. (A very odd call as you will see.) My buddy on the button has been getting beaten on by the big stack and pushes all-in with his QQ for about 160 total. Big stack instantly calls. CO calls even faster!
Turn em up boys....
My buddy: QQ Big stack: KK CO: AA
Bad push by my friend until.......
Flop comes : Q, 6, 3 rainbow!
Turn: 8
River: 5.
Pretty damn crazy. My buddy is normally a very solid player but he made some serious mistakes that day and got horseshoe in the a$$ lucky.
Later on, he pushed all-in with pocket tens against a wild player only to find himself facing pocket aces again. Flop that time: j109. No help for the aces on the turn or river.
Sometimes, it is better to be lucky than good.
