I've grown to like the gaybet as well as the Stop n Go.

I think this is Gaybetting.

Now can someone tell me why it works and if this was a good time for it?
I'd like to know more about this tool!
Is it called Gaybet for a reason..am I a donkey for doing it?

My thoughts are that since I 3-bet pf and the flop likely missed him, I may be representing a slow played over pair or a set of 9's.
It works better on some flops than others.

What if I'm raised?
Pot would be 7.50BB
If I assume 1 BB on river, I'll need 5 outs.
I planned to fold..i think thats good.

I don't have odds to call a bet check/call here, assuming 6 outs and 2 more BB to be won....although I guess an argument could be made that I'm ahead enough here to go to showdown.

Seriously though, I thought it was the best way to win the pot for a 1 BB bet. Maybe my hand had better sd value than I gave credit..and calling down UI would be ok.

Just Bet it. Drive it home. bet. bet. bet/check/check call. Let your oppenent figure it out. And yes your hand has excellent "show down potential" (is this the new strat buzz term?)

And if your trying to win the pot with your bet. Then I don't think your Stop n Going. I think you Stop n Go to lure ppl in for more bets on later streets. Not to mess with their heads and make them fold.

Why mess with a guy with those stats? I want a guy like that to keep on playing the way he has been.... no sudden moves. :wink:

I think that unless you flop a monster, or are up against 3+ villains... betting any flop after three-betting preflop is standard. You have shown strength with this hand preflop from OOP, as you should, but I think it's important to use your flop equity to its fullest extent from OOP... he's a neutral player aggression wise, and may fold. Even against a loose play who you may be ahead of sometimes, that's not a bad thing.

Like the bet/folding the turn line. I think that's how I'd play it considering he's not too aggressive.

River I check/call.

ok, if you're going to check the flop, you must raise it. this protects your future checks and you also don't mind a free card at all.

also, i detest bet/folding this. against an aggressive opponent, he may simply toss in a raise thinking he can get you to fold the best hand, and he will.

i reserve this bet/call for stronger hands, and bet/fold for completely weak hands like on blind defenses.

when I'm running bad, I start doing dopey crap.

That's the thing. You figure you must be doing something wrong to lose, so you start trying new things. But poker doesn't always reward the right play, and sometimes rewards the wrong one.

I do too. The trick is to learn when, who, and how to do dopey crap to.

Howard Lederer has said; "Sometimes in Poker you do the wrong thing for the right reason."
