I read a lot of English music mags and its pretty amazing how high Morrisey stock has gotten
When I was in college in the 80s i mostly listened to them for Johnny Marr and to be amused by some of the more absure Moz lyrics but in England now it seems that he again is god

Don't worry about Iveyfan Idaho. 1984 called, they're looking for him.
I have 16 Depeche Mode songs on my Ipod, but noooo, that isn't good enough for 80's boy.
I love Mental Jewelry more everytime I listen to is. I was late catching that train but I'm all aboard now.
I have every Live album and its best not to try and make sense of Ed's lyrics. Why you ask? Because they don't. IMO
Still love em and will pay $100 to see em. (100 b/c 45 for each ticket and charge and b/c I dont know any other Live fans since wifey left and I have to bribe someone to go with me. Boy I have a sad life sometimes)

I couldn't agree more. I like the Stones, but they haven't done anything good since 1970. Without even trying, I can think of about 20 bands that I'd put above them on my all time best bands list. Just from the '60s, you have Cream, The Who, the Kinks, Buffalo Springfield, The Jimi Hendrix Experience (with Noel and Mitch), etc.

You are saying that AC DC is for rednecks and white trash/poor people??? Their members are all from Europe and Australia, how does that make them a redneck band??? Also, a lot of their songs are football anthems....for example, Hells Bells is played a TON at just about every football stadium...is football for rednecks??? This is the most ignorant statement ever, AC DC has absolutely no relevance to "mobile homes or rednecks or the South in general, what the hell are you talking about???

The Beatles aren't in the Rolling Stones league...the Rolling Stones are WAY better than the Beatles....at least they have managed to stay together and play music all these years, unlike the Beatles, who broke up for some silly reason......IN TERMS OF STRICTLY THEIR MUSIC (NOT THEIR CULTURAL IMPACT) THE BEATLES WOULDN'T EVEN BE FIT TO BE ON THE STONE'S STAGE CREW. THE STONES ARE ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS (LYRICALLY AND MUSICALLY) OF ALL TIME. THE BEATLES, WHILE LEADING THE WAY, ARE KIND OF LAME...SERIOUSLY, OVERRATED OVERRATED OVERRATED.

2 greatest rock bands of all-time, all personal preferences aside, and there really is no argument. But that being said, I'll go ahead and use this a chance to see what music has been gracing the ipod lately, see if anyone else digs it:
Beck - Mutations
Brian Eno & John Cale - Wrong Way Up
Tom Waits - Closing Time
anything by Sound Tribe Sector 9
Elliott Smith - XO
Television - Marquee Moon
Handsome Boy Modeling School - White People
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Richie Hawtin - Decks, EFX & 909

Mutations is so underrated. I was pretty obsessed with that album for a while. When I used to play solo gigs (before I sold out to the man) I would cover Cold Brains, Lazy Flies, and Cancelled Check.

Love the Mutations albums....well I like all the Beck albums a whole lot. He is one of my favoriet artists. Finally got to see him live with the Flaming Lips a year or two ago, one of the best concerts I have seen. I was really a huge fan of Sea Change as well. Around the Bend is Beck's "How to Disappear Completely". And thanks, I just listen to a lot of different things, my only rule with music is that it has to be good. Unless its from the `80s, then it can suck. Lot of good CDs on that list if there are any you haven't heard.
