Hand 1
Bodog .50/1 PLO8 (9-handed)

Cobalt is MP3 w/ A icon_suit_club.gif 3 icon_suit_club.gif 4 icon_suit_club.gif 6 icon_suit_spade.gif. No reads on UTG. MP2 is solid. This might be the first hand I've raised pre-flop in an hour.

Pre-flop:
UTG calls

Flop ($13.50): 2 icon_suit_spade.gif 5 icon_suit_diamond.gif 3 icon_suit_diamond.gif (3 players)
UTG checks, MP2 checks, Cobalt bets $6

Turn ($25.50): 5 icon_suit_club.gif (2 players)
UTG checks, Cobalt ?

Final Pot: $25.50

Bought the button. Not sure if that was right. Flopped the nut low and high. Now what?

My opponent had $26 left. I'm pretty sure that I'm a donkey and got really lucky. I can't quite piece together what he had. QQxx or low cards maybe?

Little help?

Hand #1

I like the raise prelfop, good bet on the flop. On the turn, I think you have to push again. Since he called on the flop, he could have A4 as well, probably of icon_suit_diamond.gif. If he plays back, you'll have to re-evaluate from there. I don't think I'd be able to fold to a raise.

Hand #2

My guess is he had A2XX. I play that game quite a bit and know that a lot of people will chase a back door low draw, but that's just a stab at it.

Cobalt, how do you get the hand converter to work for Bodog?
CobaltBlue
I convert manually. Yes, I'm extremely pedantic about it.

hand 1: Check. You have shyte.

hand 2: I think I would have just called the flop, IF I was going to continue with that hand. 8)

Hand 1: Keep potting it until you meet resistance. You have a great hand heads up, are guaranteed 1/4, possibly getting 1/2 and probably getting 3/4 if not all. Make the naked A4 pay. This hand is not "shyte", although if there were several players left in i would be very worried.

Hand 2: Perfect. If he comes back at you, you can put him on the straight. If he calls it down, you can hope for a heart and a dry ace bluff.

I missed the  after my hand one analysis, but I still think it's a check. IMO there are very few scare cards that could come to make us get quartered, so why not give them a little rope, hoping they hang themselves?

LOL -OK. Do whatever guarantees to get all the money in by the end. :-)

I'm not telling, I'm asking.
We have a pretty good hand to scoop with here (or 3/4), so I am thinking that raising may end up giving us a small p0t, whereas checking here may give us 3/4's or a scoop of a big pot. I can't see MANY cards that would have us get 1/4'ed (I am sure there are plenty, I just dont feel like trying to figure it out right now). :?

So we pansy around on the turn and give a free card. What do we do when a diamond comes on the river and he pots it into us? I think you have to put him to the test now and keep the pressure on.

Wouldn't it be just as fine to win 4/4 of a pot now? :-)

I potted it. He folded.

That is a very valid point, but with a pair on board, would he not also be leery of a full house? Like I said, there aren't many cards that could 1/4 us, but obviously there are some.
My original thought appears to be incorrect about the high. If we are currently beat for high, it wont change with another card that comes, BUT if we are ahead for high, that MAY change, which is a mistake looking back. Better to pot it now, hoping the guy is only going low I guess, or he folds.
Another lesson learned. 8)
