--I put this in General but thought it was worth posting here too...

Hey all. If any of you read my posts (which somehow I doubt) you'll know I'm in a pretty horrible slump. I was all pumped up to play last night, and the bad beats kept coming. I'll spare you the horrors of the specific hands, but just trust me when I say that if I wasn't a fairly laid back guy my computer would have been out the window and my girlfriend in the hospital (j/k...about the computer).

So at around 12:30 (pst) I decided to give a go what I've been throwing around for a while...playing two $20+2 S&G tables instead of four .5-1 limit tables. My strategy was what I have read here a few times; extremely tight for the first four levels, and then if nothing is going my way I figured I would just throw my hat in and try to double up with any decent hand once I was in danger of being blinded off.

Table 1: 2nd place
Table 2: 3rd place

So at this point I'm pretty happy. At table 1 the first hand I played was in the second level. I raised on the button after 2 limpers with KcQc, and picked up the straight and flush draws. I checked it through, and hit the nut straight. Bet, I raise, reraise all in, I call...boom, I double up. This carried me through to the final 3 where I finally loosened up. Table 2 was more boring, basically I folded until I had $400 and there were five of us left, went all in with AQo, won, and that carried me to 3rd.

I was so please that at 1:15 I decided against my best judgement to play two more, even though I had an early meeting. Sometimes I just have to laugh at the fact that people at work have no idea I'm a complete degenerate in oh so many ways. Anywho...

Table 3: 4th place
Table 4: 1st place

Similar stories to the first two tables. So now my bankroll has gone from the brink of disaster to the highest it has ever been (which still isn't that much, but whatever). My question is does anyone here play S&G's exclusively? If so, what buy-in do you suggest against your bankroll, how many do you play at once, what kind of success rate is considered killing the game, etc. Obviously I can't expect these kinds of results every time since I won my fair share of the races, but maybe this is where I should be focusing my game.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Flames?

if you're playing .5/1 LHE, you don't have the roll for 20's

What would you suggest as a proper roll?
