This situation occured over the weekend at my local home game.
Some backround, most of the players are decent players, but this one guy draws to everything.
I call on the button with A9 suited non-spade, flop comes A 9 4 all of spades. It was headsup between me and him and he checks it to me, so I bet 1/2 the pot. When he calls, I know he has four to a flush.
My question is, is it smart to bet into someone like that, knowing will lose what you have already bet, or should you play it as cheap as possible.
Thanks in advance for the help, just your everyday super-donk trying to become closer to a normal donk.

this needs to be edited, or your deck is broken.
assuming u have A9o.
if he flat calls the flop, u can check out the turn.. since the flop was
, make sure he isnt trapping you with a made hand.
if the flush hits on the turn, u can reevaluate... often, against passive players, you can continue betting the same amount as on the flop, and hope he continues his trap....kinda like setting your own price.. a check here allows him to take the pot away on a bluff, so you might as well continue with the lead.
if you make your boat on the river, you should get paid.
if the turn is a non spade, and you feel that he is drawing, then shut him out with a pot sized bet.. if he calls, it is a dire mistake, which puts money in your pocket.... (assuming you will not double him up when it comes, as he is drawing to a hand with no implied odds, while getting terrible pot odds)

Woah totally sorry. I meant A9 suited not spades. My bad, I'll go edit
edit.. you are in position, so not all of my advice is as applicable... he may lead into you.. from there, evaluate your odds..... including a probibility that he is bluffing (albeit small) and the odds that he has a lower 2 pair. also consider that you are drawing live.
