This has happened to me twice today, and I'm wondering if I played it right.

The specifics were a little different for both hands, but the general strategy is the same.

Playing A23K from mid position, about 5 people in the hand. The flop comes KK2.

First hand it was checked to me, and I checked, player behind me bets pot, I repot it and he calls. Turn comes 6, I bet pot, he repots which would put me all in. I called and he had K6xx, the river came a 5 to salvage half for me.

The second hand played out in almost the same way, except for the fact that I took the lead on the flop and bet the pot. Both hands I was ahead on the flop, behind on the turn (and all in), and salvaged half the pot on the river.

I think I've finally posted a hand where the advice isn't going to be check/fold the flop, but I'm not sure how to play this on the turn. Any help would be appreciated.

Check/fold the flop.

good luck.

Can't comment on the second hand as there is no positional information, which as you can see is very important here.

On the first hand, your CR the flop is understandable, but what do you think his call tells you? He has a K but no 2. Your redraws to improve are to a 3 (which counterfeits your low) and to an A, which would be a disaster as you would almost certainly split hi and have your low counterfeited again. He has 2 others which are going to beat you. At the very least you need to slow down here and not do anything to help him build the pot against you before you have a solid made hand.

I would bet out on the flop to see where I am, call if he re-pots. Check / call turn and pot the river with a made low. (If a brick comes on the turn or river I am gone).

Thanks.

Villain had position on me in both hands, both came from the blinds.
