I've tried a few times now to learn LHE, but i've always tended to get frustrated and give up. Wanted to post a few hands. Definately not any high level type plays here. Just wanted some input so far. 2 hands:

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with [Kd], [Ks].
UTG calls, 3 folds, BB calls, UTG calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (8.40 SB) [2c], [5d], [Th] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls, BB folds, UTG folds.

Turn: (5.20 BB) [6h] (2 players)
MP2 bets, MP2 folds.

Final Pot: 8.20 BB

Should I have raised the flop here?

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with [Qd], [Qc].
2 folds.

Flop: (5.40 SB) [Kd], [4c], [6h] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (3.70 BB) [Jh] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, MP2 calls.

River: (7.70 BB) [7s] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP2 calls.

Final Pot: 9.70 BB

here I was trying to represent a big king and honestly thought villain would fold on the turn. River bet is kinda a last ditch effort to take the pot.Figured I was beat. Hand confused me tho because villain ended up turning over A4. Is that normal?

Hand 1: Raise the flop.

Hand 2: Bet the flop. I think you're trying to get too tricky against these players.

point taken.... I think these hands stuck out in my mind because these were the hands that I deviated from just a plain TAG style.

For hand 1: if i raise the flop, i'm fairly sure I run out the raiser. Is it not a good idea to try to entice him to put out a BB on the turn here?

u are my worst enemy!
The sneeky turn c/r!
I keep paying you off with top pair...And that's good enough in Hand 2!
So maybe I"ll keep calling yuo down!. But hte pot in hand 2 is too small to call with jsut top pair, unless I have a H draw or know u do this a lot.

anyway..back to you.

Hand 1
Raise the lfop in one! Don't give chepa cards to all those behind you.
Turn riase is solid.

Hand 2:

bet/call flop
If raised on Flop, and w/o a read..I likely fold Turn UI...(meaning no more draws and no Q)..but I might call down too, and kic kmyself later...depends how aggressive MP2 is

if not raised
I lead the turn

yes, u'll get called by A4 a lot.

hand 1..i'm probably raising the flop

hand 2..i'm c/r the flop...and yes..it is normal for somebody to show down something like A 4 here...just sucks when they riv the A. <<<--- happening to me a lot lately.

Your main concern is the two players left to act behind you. You want to get this to heads-up or make the others pay two cold to stay in. A lot of the time, you're getting check/called down the rest of the way by the post-flop bettor with a 10 or a 5 though. These players hate to fold.

no.

There is more $$ in the pot now than what you will make off of him later.
You want to keep the other 2 from outdrawing you, as best you can.
