Shouldn't fourth be an easy fold?

Why? My pair is conceiled, and I still have a good low going. Is it not standard to call on fourth there when teh bets are half price?

Yeah, but you have virtually no chance to scoop, and you need two cards to make a low (and odds are it will be a 7 or 8-low, since aces and fives are somewhat dead) - it doesn't seem to me that it's worth chasing a two-card draw here for half the pot, when your hand may be no good even if it hits.

I agree completely, but look at the stack sizes and the stakes we are playing. Once I hit fourth street (and called, I was on the fence at this point), it was go all the way with it, or fold and basically have to rebuy or leave. I decided to go for it, and was ahead from fourth street on (until the river) for the high, AND the low. I was farily confident that my opponent did not have a pair of aces (he raised on third street right behind my bring-in...who does that with a high hand?), so took a chance that my sixes were good at that point, plus I had the low going also.

I stand by the decision. 8)

The question is dumb: "Should i bet when ahead"
Of course you should, peopl will still outdraw you, it's just the way it is. Still a fold on third or forth would have been better.

It is not a dumb question, as it is relevant. I was almost certain that I was ahead, but was uncertain whether I should be betting out as I was in no way guaranteed to win even half the pot, so should I have been checking it down is the key bit of info I was looking for...thanks for nothing though... 8)

I would fold on the 3rd street right away. Really, you see why?

I agree. (I had been thinking fold 4th, but I agree that folding 3rd is even better.)

You're getting 7-1 - but you've got basically no shot at high (so you're really getting 3.5-1), and there's so many low cards out that: 1 - Your low draw is largely dead, and 2 - At least one opponent is likely to be on a much more live low draw.

are you forgetting that I was the bring-in? if you fold to a raise after being the bring-in with my three cards, you are playing way too tight... :?
JacKingOff_suit
I saw the bring-in, but I would still fold because it's raised and there were 2 As and 2 5s out already plus 3 other low cards and 2 of them were clubs, those were my prime cards.

Good luck (sorry I can't help it. laugh.gif)

all those cards you listed being out actually helps me out (although it owuld be nice to be up against kings and queens), more than I think you realize...

its an easy complete on third, and a call on fourth. Todd Brunson wouldn't dispute it...lol 8)

I have no idea if you suck at it or not (I highly respect your omaha skills), but IMO you are sadly mistaken if you think its a fold on third st or even on fourth street...

I am by no means an expert at THIS game, hence the reason for my posts in this particular forum. Sadly, not many people post THEIR troubling hands, OR provide their insight into mine... sad.gif

No, I seriuosly mean it, tell me why it's right to call. You definitely played more S8 than I did.
