I will be in Pittsburgh in mid-September for a presentation I have to give. Is there anyplace within a couple of hours of there that people might go to play a bit? Or is it a poker wasteland?

If any eastern folks have any thoughts on this, that would be great. Thanks.

The closest you're gonna find is Niagara Falls and AC. For real.

Unless you wanna play in my $10 buy-in home game? laugh.gif laugh.gif

Where you gonna be, just wondering?

Actually, Salamanca NY is closer than Niagara Falls. Prolly 2.5 hour drive from the burgh.

Also I've heard of a place in W Virginia...Mountaineer or someshat. Never been there though.

Mountaineer is all bs slots. If you are in on a weekend, Cleveland has poker tournaments running downtown from Thursday-Sunday. $50-$150 SNG's and MTT, up to 10-20 cash games. It is for charity, so the rake is bad, but lots of fish.

I know of several "underground" games in the area.

$25-$50 tournies some w/ rebuys + addons

cash games mostly are NL 1/2 and 3/6 and most of the limit games are 2/4.

For "fundraiser" tournies 90% payouts usually w/ sidegames go to www.tristatefun.com

Any questions PM me.

Thanks, guys. I guess this trip will be a bust from the card-playing standpoint. While I'd like to play, 2.5 hours for a night of cards isn't +EV for me.

They need to legalize poker. It disturbs me that it's closer for me to drive from Salt Lake City to play legal poker (in Wendover) than it is in more civilized parts of our great land.

Thanks again for everyone's input.

Good deal. I live by the airport, but know the city pretty well. If you want some advice on places to go when you're here, PM me and I can give ya some thing. From site seeing to SITE SEEING. If you know what I mean. laugh.gif laugh.gif
