No converter for Stud 8 hands. I know it looks ugly, but what are you gonna do... 8)

The setup - playing stud hi/lo at the $1/$2 tables (one level higher than I normally play, but coudn't get a game going at my normal level of $0.50/1). Sat down with $25 (buy-in a little low for this level, but just wanted to test the waters without too much risk). Have been anteed down to less than $20 without playing a single hand (of course I had some bring-ins, but never went past 4th street). Terrible run of bad hands, so I am very frustrated at having not been playing for over half an hour so far. The entire table is very loose (except me), playing just about every hand on third street.

Probably a little loose to play this starting hand, but I was frustrated:

Only one other low guy, figure I'll see what develops.

There is only one guy for low, so lets see if he still wants to chase half the pot. I know I am chasing also, but it is figuring to be a big pot if the previous hands have been any indication. I also raised hoping to make the guys yet to act fold (having to call 2 cold for only the high half of a pot can get expensive, but they decided to chase also).
*** 5TH STREET ***
ROCKETWAD - Pocket [4c,3s,7d,2d,6h]
T - Pocket [H,H,6c,7s,Jd]
H - Pocket [H,H,Qc,Ad,Qs]
O - Pocket [H,H,Ac,Ah,Ks]

ROCKETWAD - Raises $0.95 to $2
T - Calls $2
H - Calls $2
R - Calls $1.05

Bingo bango bongo. I have made my low, and the other low hasn't. Looks like I am freerolling for half, and these guys don't want to quit. With two aces visible, the odds of the other low guy having a low hand that could beat mine is greatly reduced as well. Pop it up.

*** 6TH STREET ***
ROCKETWAD - Pocket [4c,3s,7d,2d,6h,5s]
T - Pocket [H,H,6c,7s,Jd,As]
H - Pocket [H,H,Qc,Ad,Qs,Jc]
O - Pocket [H,H,Ac,Ah,Ks,8s]
R - Pocket [H,H,10h,Kh,10c,4s]
R - Checks
ROCKETWAD - Bets $2
T - Calls $2
H - Calls $2
O - all-in
R - Calls $2

There is yet another ace showing. Unfortunately, it is in the low hand. Good thing I just made my straight though, so even if I am beat on the low (very unlikely), I have a pretty good hand, and since nobody has raised me here, the high hands don't have me beat for the high from wht I can see (although there are some nice looking hands there).

*** RIVER ***
ROCKETWAD - Pocket [4c,3s,7d,2d,6h,5s,3h]
R - Checks
ROCKETWAD - Bets $2
T - Raises $2 to $4
H - Calls $4
R - Calls $4
ROCKETWAD - Calls $2
O - all-in

I get yet another low card, further making it look like I am good for the low, plus I have a straight for the high. Pop another bet in there. Oh wait, I got raised, and the other two guys called the 2-bets. Crap, no scoop for me by the looks of it. Oh well, I'll take half of this pot, as it is a monster.

*** SHOW DOWN ***
T - Show cards [2h,5c,6c,7s,Jd,As,4h]
H - Show cards [Jh,Kd,Qc,Ad,Qs,Jc,10d]
O - Lost mucks
R - Lost mucks
ROCKETWAD - Show cards [4c,3s,7d,2d,6h,5s,3h]

*** RESULT ***
Total Pot($49.85) Rake ($2)

Will you look at that. I got beat on the river for both the high and the low.

Can someone please let me know YOUR thoughts on MY thoughts on every street. I am a very tight player in Stud 8, and know that the starting hand wasn't ideal, and realize I was playing a bit on tilt simply from having lost 1/5 of my stack from antees alone...

Girls gone wild, cards gone bad... Sometimes we just have to suffer the poker cold winter. I've gone thru 4 bad sessions at PS due to bad cards, bad beat then bad plays. I was surprised that I managed to lose less than $300, I am still staying positive and looking for the return of winning streaks though.

can you provide som eof your thoughts on this hand?

Actually that's exactly my feedback for this hand.

You've already provided good thoughts on this play youself, you got bored, you got anted a lot, so you made a very marginal call. You made it then later on someone made it better, that's poker. One thing we need at poker is discipline, work on it, and me too.
