What is a good omaha book? I saw Winners Guide to Omaha Poker by Ken Warren, but nothing else on my trip to Borders today. Does Farha have a book? Isn't he considered the premier PL Omaha player today?

Bob Ciaffone, Lou Krieger, And Mike Capeletti have all done books on Omaha. Krieger and Cappleletti's are on 8/o. Of course there is the Omaha sections in SS/2 now. There is a real lack of omaha books out there. The warren book is good if yourr new to omaha but after you know how to pick the right hands there isn't much from there

I have the winners guide to hold em by Ken Warren, and don't recommend it at all...the Omaha is probably not any better. don't like his writing style...gives 1 paragragh on 1000's of diferent little subjects

For Omaha H/L, Mike Cappletti's book is terrific and I recommend it. I have not read anything else but him, but based on how he approaches the split pot version, a high only book is pretty good.

I recommend the Capelletti book as well. Extremely helpful and easy to understand if you wanna learn O/8.

I have "How Good Is Your Pot Limit Omaha?" by Stewart Reuben on it's way from Amazon. Anyone read this one?

I do, its all quizzes on hands that he played, kinda weird and I'm not to much of a fan of it. There isn't much strategy to it. The PLO section in SS/2 is great, a lot of new stuff that I hadn't thought about before

I have SS2 on order but as I've never been signed up at Doyles Room I have to wait for it's general release.

Everyone I know who pre-ordered is receiving it atm and according to local Borders (not me, a friend) - they had it, but are sold out and waiting for another shipment.

I've read Mike Cappletti's book and thought it had sound advice, but I found two older books by Boston and Shane Smith that I thought were better. They explore the concepts of negitive value hands in Omaha HL, which has saved me a lot of money, and playing for the scoop, which has made me a lot of money.
I saw Super Systems 2 at Barnes and Noble yesterday.

Lou Krieger has some good O8 articles in the www.cardplayer.com archives.

I actually prefer Ken Warren's books over a lot of books. I like his writing style, I think its all how you can take it in. Everyone learns diffrently by the way they are taught, I like the way he teaches the game. His winners guide to Hold em and Omaha have both helped my games tremendously.

Ken Warren is all right. There's a certain pont that you need to move away from him. HIs hold em book was good for me when I needed it, but the omaha was almost worthless. I had already been able to de-holdemize myself when I read it and basically all he does is focus on differentiating holdem from omaha. Lou Krieger Has a great 8 o/b book. Highly recomended. He really gets into strategy( I think he might focus on low cards a little too much, like haveing A234, but that is my only complaint))
