I posted a long, rambling post that no one replied to, although since it was really long, I'm not surprised.

I'm used to playing SnGs when I play tournaments and I have a good strategy for that.

I played in a $20 NL HE tourny on PS, 879 players. When the antes started, I had about 5000 chips, good for about 90th out of 300 left. Since I'm used to playing SnGs, I don't know how to adjust my game when the antes come out. I was playing the best I ever have and was really confident.

How do you adjust your game when the antes come out, obviously it's important to pick up easy pots. How much should I change my normal game to account for the blinds?

It just makes stealing the blinds more profitable; at that point, the blinds were probably at 100-200 so no need to do anything any drastic since you were still 25x BB.

Once the ante's start, many other players really start to try to steal the blinds; I'm more apt to defend my blind if I have something decent like a Kx or Ax, suited connector if the raise is coming from the SB ,button or one off the button.

It's time to get more aggressive, not neccessarliy on the first ante round, but maybe a round or two later. If you can pick up several blinds and ante, you then can really start getting some chips and momentum going, which is very important in a tourny. Players like daniel and Ivey take down these types of pots using that type of table image. Many in tournaments just try to hang on, its the aggresive ones who really win. A good case in point iws the live Turning Stone tourny, Phil Ivey is in command of that table. Juanda also controls the table a lot in that tourny.
