Villian : 34/4/.7 Also an extreme calling station.

Here's a couple hands before:

PokerStars 2/4 Hold'em (6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP with [8s], [8d].
1 fold, BB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (9.50 SB) [5d], [7h], [5h] (3 players)
BB bets, CO calls, BB calls.

Turn: (7.75 BB) [Th] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, CO folds, BB calls.

River: (9.75 BB) [2c] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Final Pot: 11.75 BB

Results in white below:
BB has 9s Kd (one pair, fives).
Hero has 8s 8d (two pair, eights and fives).
Outcome: Hero wins 11.75 BB.

*** I almost should've capped considering stats on CO in that hand, but only reason Im posting this hand is to show villian's calling on river criteria, which leads me to my real hand.

Does this qualify as a clarkmeister, bet/fold?

Why did you check the flop?

Against extreme calling station, I think bet/folding river is OK.

Against most players, I check/call the river.

Is I don't know a good answer?

I think I was going to c/r for some odd reason.

Edit: It was in the heat of the moment!!

Check/calling the river is better for a lot of reasons.

Most people with AJ/AQ etc will take a shot here if you check it, and obviously
better hands will raise a fair amount.

A high checking beind here isn't a big deal value wise.

It's unlikely you're folding an overpair to your 6s here by bettting.

Good luck.

My standard play in this situations is check/call.

But my opponent has shown a willingness to call down with virtually nothing, which is why i thought bet/fold was more attractive, as he also wasn't that aggressive.
