Playing texas hold em last night heads up I had a difficult decision to make.
my starting cards were a/k off suit, i was small blind so I called the big blind. He raised but not enough to really make it worth while so I called. Flop comesA/J/K all hearts. He checked which is so not his style, so i make a small bet which is quickly raised with an all in. Now comes the fun part while I'm thinking on what to do cause I'm alittle thrown by the whole thing he comes up with lets make this interesting and make a side bet. So at this point I figured i might be beat so i didnt go any further, and i was told it was a stupid move. What would you have done ?

First of all post in the Texas Hold'em or General Strategy Forum. Second of all tell us the amount of money being raised to you. 8)

In his defense...he did say he was playing heads up. I can see calling with AK from the SB.

Why are there so many more stupid threads lately? And most of them in strat? This is supposed to be the one part that is not flooded with stupid threads. Is anyone else noticing this?

you misplayed your hand at virtually every decision.
i think a better line in the hand would have been cashing out preflop.

First of all, you need to give a lot more information about your hand, mainly stack sizes and the size of the blinds.
We have no idea how big his all in push is on the flop, nor how big your stack sizes are, there is no way to give the right advice here.
You do want to be raising AK heads up, if your opponent is aggressive (very) then I don't mind the limp, let him raise, but then you have to reraise. Again, don't know stack sizes or blinds, but I'm sure you wouldn't mind getting all in preflop with AK in this spot.
Next time post more information in your post. Don't worry about the stupid flames, if you really have a question about a hand, then go ahead and post the hand, that's the only way you learn.
