New table - no reads.

5 limpers in the pot - Im on the button with A icon_suit_heart.gif 9 icon_suit_heart.gif

Flop comes Q icon_suit_club.gif 9 icon_suit_diamond.gif 3 icon_suit_spade.gif

Betting goes bet, fold, fold, raise, then to me . . .

I'm always hesitant with these middle pairs and how far to chase them.

Thoughts/advice?

Looks like a fold to me.

You figure you've got 5 outs, right? 2 9's and 3 Aces. There's an off chance you are up against A-Q and would need to hit that 9, and sometiems you are against pocket 3's pocket 9's or pocket Q's. In an unraised pot when you hold a 9, pocket 3's would be the only big worry, IMHO, and I wouldn't give it too much thought to be honest.

With 5 outs, I think the pot must pay you about 8.5-1 for this to be a profitable call.

Pot's paying you about 7-1. Some people may say it's OK to call because it's so easy to make up extra bets when you hit. But, don't forget that you aren't closing the action here, so you may end up getting sucked in for another bet here, which would make the implied odds that much more difficult for you. You also aren't always going to win when you hit an out, and it's probably rare that you will win U/I.

So, I have no problem laying this one down.

Actually, it's 2 to him, 8SB in the pot, so 4-1. Clear fold.
