Umm.

Not fully understanding the raise here three handed. If there were more to act behind you, maybe.

you'd call down?

i guess raising was just instinctive, but i did consider maybe just calling. just seemed weak/tight, but i know that's definitely NOT a reason i should be raising (to not seem weak/tight).

i'm thinking i'd raise simply for value against a worse 10 or a lower pair and to simply protect my hand.

I think in this spot I'd much rather check/call down, you have a good enough hand that you should want to see a showdown here in my opinion.

did you think your T was good?

Are those hands calling you here enough? check/call is my new favorite play w/ mediocre hands heh.

It''s 2 bets either way and calling down gets you a showdown. If don;t think you should raise if you are going to fold to a 3 bet so I would just call this down.
akishore
ok, so start calling this down from now on. got it, thanks.

If he thinks his T is good, then yea I'd call the turn/river.

uh, yea, that was a joke. he doesnt need to think its good every time, just ~40% with a live K.

I don't get the turn raise. It seems like this is a call down for sure.

SB could have meant to check raise the flop but instead had You two check behind, but he could also be bluffing. That raise-fold for the same price as a call-call also doesn't allow You to catch up if he is 3 betting with an A. Well it does but You have to put in more and You know about those reverse implied odds.

To responders:

This hand isn't worth raising here for a free showdown? It seems to me that if we are ahead, our hand is vulnerable enough that it's not bad if we fold out the opponents (even if they may have bet the river with worse hands). And if we have to fold to a raise, we know we only had at best 5 outs...

Also, since the it was the SB who bet the turn, there's a greater chance he was slowplaying the flop.

By raising we expose ourself to a 3-bet. If we fold here (which I think we should) we are occassionally being pushed off the hand by a weaker ten or a complete bluff. This does not happen very ofter, but it really sucks when it does. By simply calling we ensure that we get to a showdown. If we are ahead, our opponent only has 0-6 outs to catch up. Also, as DN posted in a one a day thread, calling here allows us a chance to hit one of our outs if we're behind.

The only reason to raise here would be to protect our pair of tens. We can't really do that here because we are only against two opponents, one of which is probably going to call our raise for only 1 more bet. Also, with only one more card to come, our hand is not a vulnerable as it would be on the flop.

Weird raise/fold IMO. Call it down UI??? 8)
