I'm posting the following hand because I'm having a major problem in these situations. I know its costing me and it ticks me off because I keep running my mind in circles trying to figure out what to do.

.25/.50 limit holdem (10 players)
no real reads on any opponents
Hero has K icon_suit_spade.gif Q icon_suit_heart.gif

preflop
5 folds, Hero raises, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls

flop A icon_suit_spade.gif 8 icon_suit_club.gif 6 icon_suit_club.gif
SB checks, BB checks, Hero ????

Should I bet out? Should I try and check/raise? Should I check/fold? What do I do if I get raised?

What bothered me in the hand was the number of callers I got preflop. I was hoping for 2 callers or a heads up situation (in which case I bet this flop). But with 4 callers preflop, I'm feel that either someone has an Ace and might raise or call me down, or someone will raise in a bluff or free card attempt and put me in a tough spot. That feeling comes from people's tendencies at this level to play Ax or bluff a raiser with an Ace on the board. Of course if I bet, I might get a weak Ace or a lower pair to fold leaving me with the draws trying to chase me down. What does everyone else do here?

you don't have to bet with two left to act and a bad flop

no brainer check, fold to any bet

This is a pretty clear check/fold on the flop in my opinion. You raise for value with the KQ, with 4 players out there I'm definitely assuming one of them has an Ace. If it gets checked around I'd see what the turn brings and re-evaluate. Probably bet if it hits me or look to check/fold if it doesn't.

Well I did end up check/folding (the CO bet and the Button raised).

How do yall decide to keep pushing with KQ when an Ace flops? Is it based on the number of callers and your relative position to them? I dont want to freak out everytime an Ace spikes.

KQ with an A high flop is one of the rare times that i dont auto-bet.
