check/call i'd think. Our hand is too strong to bet/fold

I'm in bet/call mode on the river.
edit-sorry, missed the 4th heart there
but I still would probably lead out,
I just might not call a raise.

Likely hands are AK/AQ/QQ/KK/AA and most likely has a heart. So to me check/fold the river is probably what you are looking at.

-Edit-
Didn't see the four flush.
I can't decide if this is check/call or bet/fold.

Check/Call seems to be a cyring call saying "Show Me Your Heart." And as much as it sucks to fold top set, you will save yourself that BB.

I think it's an easy check call or fold.
First. There'smany bets in there which justify a call if u have no read on the guy. I think it's highly likely he was chasing a flush draw so I might checkfold. But a checkcall isn't completely out of the question nor is it a horrible play imo.
If you lead out you're only getting called by a flush or overpair. If u lead out and get raised ur forced to fold which may get u bluffed out of the best hand if he's capable of making a good bluff here (I'd say this is highly unlikely though).
If you lead out ur almost always losing when u get called, so ur losing a bb.
If u check call u induce a bluff here which allows u to gain a bb a small % of the time. This has more ev in the long run as this situation only loses u one bet when ur beat and gains u a bet occasionally. The other situation only allows u to lose a bet.

Forgot to mention that villian was fairly tight and somewhat aggressive.

If I bet, what is our opponent possibly calling with that we beat?

to answer your first question, yes, calling preflop with 4 in is totally, like, fine.
on the river, it's a tough call between bet/fold and check/call, but i'd probably vote for the latter considering the size of the pot. two black aces is probably calling your bet here, but the flush is SIGNIFICANTLY more likely, as is, i would say, a bluff at the river.
if you bet/fold here, i'm making a note on you that costs you a LOT of money down the road. check/call costs you the same number of bets.
