Hand 1:

I think I played this fine. Do you all raise this PF? Does the flop bet-out suck?

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [9s], [9d].
1 fold, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (10 SB) [8s], [As], [5d] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB folds, BB folds, Hero calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: (8 BB) [6h] (3 players)
Hero checks, MP3 checks, CO bets, Hero calls, MP3 calls.

River: (11 BB) [7h] (3 players)
Hero bets, MP3 folds, CO calls.

Final Pot: 13 BB

If I didn't pick up the gutshot on the turn I would have folded. 4 more outs and I'm getting the right price to call.

Hand 2:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with [8h], [8s].
UTG calls, 4 folds, Hero calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (6 SB) [Jh], [5d], [9s] (4 players)
SB bets, UTG folds, SB calls.

Turn: (5 BB) [3d] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

River: (5 BB) [4h] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 5 BB

I'm not ashamed of this hand either, but did I miss a bet on the turn against 2 overcards? I'm getting called down if he has a J or 9 (J is more likely), but with villian's raise PF and just calling my raise on the flop, can I put him on AK AQ strong enough to bet again on the turn. Seems like if I bet the turn and no more overcards hit, I should bet the river too.
Thoughts?

Hand 1 looks absolutely perfect to me. Some don't raise 9-9 PF, but I generally do. Flop continuation bet is AOK.

Hand 2 - I would have bet the turn as well. This card didn't help him, and he's probably on a weak draw. You may possible get him to fold a 9. If he calls I probably check/call the river.

I don't think a worse hand is calling your bet, but may bluff on a missed draw.

I agree with Bean, everything looks fine on Hand 1, nice catch on the river.

Hand 2, I think continuing on the turn is a good idea. He may have 9s, but I think any hand with a Jack he would have (AJ, KJ, even QJ) he would either 3-bet on the flop or, more likely, bet on the turn. the check smells of overs or a mid pair. Considering the amount of overs I could see him raising preflop (AK, AQ, KQ, AT), I think you have to bet the turn.

If he calls the turn and checks the river, you do not need to bet again. only hands that beat you will call; I don't see him calling with overs after you raised on the flop. So check through the river and see if your hand holds up.

Cool thanks for the input.

If Villian reraises the flop in Hand 2, do you call and fold to a turn bet if you don't hit an 8 or 10?
