wtf, how does tommy reed fold a set of tens??
PrtyPSux
I was just going to post this, and when I saw this title I knew what it was about.. I love Ivey's reaction. "C'mon man you cant fold a set of 10's!"
GrinderMJ
Worst play I have seen in a long time, even Phil Ivey was like quit playing man you didn't three tens. If a guy liek that can make the final table, wow, maybe even someone as bad as me can.
Teph
That was the single stupidest fold ever.
zimmer4141
Following the model set by Henry Tran and Doug Lee, I bet he wins. How these people even get to the final table is beyond me.
JonnyRew
Yeah wtf was that!! Donkkk
Sushiman
Come on Henry Tran was fun to watch, plus he didn't make make any moves that were outrageously bad.

Did Ivey say that or "Shut up man, you didn't fold tens."

Volume was pretty low, so I don't know, but I hope it's the latter.

Translating to, "You can't be that stupid."
PoppinFresh
Anyone nice enough to describe the hand for me? :-)
wolfman50
i still dont understand it, im not playing right now, im on tilt just thinking about it. even if he thought someone had kq for the str8 he at least has to call to see if the board pairs, i just don't get it.

david pham raises preflop with pocket queens, reed calls with pocket tens, another guy calls with 76 (ithink) of diamonds, flop comes aj7 with 2 diamonds, it's checked around, turn comes a ten (not a diamond), pham checks, reed check, and the other guy bets like a fairly small amouont, pham calls and reed folds???????????? river blank, pham checks, the other guy puts him allin and pham makes a great read and calls and wins with his pair of queens.
RonnyMemphis
Did anyone see the look on Ivey's face when the hand went to showdown, when pham exclaimed "YES!!"

I cant even describe the expression, it was funny as hell though.

Thanks, and LOL at that fold. I call work!!
Egarim
He folded 10s preflop and wouldve hit another set.

Phil Ivey only has two looks. The robot stare into space look and the shocked "i just saw jesus and I think he flashed me" look.

Could the guy with a set have misread his hand? If not I think he should have pulled an Akaconditioner and openfolded his set.
JonnyRew
Very first hand shown, I swear that lasandro folded on purpose just so Ivey could be on TV longer lol.
If you didnt see, Lasandro had 10 10, Ivey 9 9, flop came 4 4 4, turn came 5 and ivey went all in and he folded?? I guess he couldve put him on AA KK QQ JJ, (doubt a four, pretty sure they raieed pf) but still ...

isn't conditioning folding the nuts (so as not to give away your "style of play")? and open folding is openfarrelling right? both are +EV if i'm not mistaken
HoosierAlum
Classic case of playing scared in order to move up in the $.
wolfman50
You think tommy reed could be akaconditioner? ohmy.gif

On this subject, wtf is Ivey doing HU? He put an all in twice on just a draw. He's playing pretty poorly IMO for the best player in the world.

Was he semibluffing and pushing with a draw or was he calling the all-in?

He called it.

Then he moved in with bottom pair on the last hand of the tourn.

Rare self-destruct.
JonnyRew
He's getting tired and doesn't care if he wins, cuz it doesn't mean jack to him.

With the flush draw he was pot committed and had to call. With the OESD he was not committed and called all-in...that was loose. That last hand Ivey read Lissandro for weakness so he jammed...Lissandro made a good call...Ivey truly is fearless.
speedz99
Based on his heads up play, if that was anyone but a big name pro we would all be talking about the fact that a huge donkey somehow finished second in that event.

Bullshit. Nobody spends days making the final table and decides at the last two that he wants to give up. Whether it was the money or his pride, the guy was not giving up.

Again, anyone but a big pro and you do not make this post.

No?
wolfman50
no i think there is some creedance to this. the money between first and second doens't mean anything to ivey. and although he does care about winning, i think he does get tired/bored sometimes and just says **** it and makes some loose/hypo-agressive plays that he made at the final table. remember how he busted out of the rio wsop circuit event, i think that's a valid example to support this case.
speedz99
That's ridiculous. He spent DAYS making the final two. He didn't get bored and overagressive. He is just human and made a few mistakes.
wolfman50
he is human, that's why he does get tired and/or bored. i don't care how many days he spent getting there, i'm telling you he has been prone to get tired/b0red whatever, and start making crazy/loose plays.
speedz99
Maybe you're right. Maybe he was bored and tired. So was the other guy. Lissandro (sp?) is also a high stakes player. These aren't excuses for poor play.
wolfman50
i agree with you, i don't agree with that kind of mentality and would never do it myself but it seems to me that ivey displays that kind of mentality sometimes.
xxAcesFullxx
Folding those trip Tens on the turn when the ten hit is the biggest shocker that i have seen at a final table, even bigger than seeing phil Hellmouth lose that 2M sit@go to Anne Duke and going over the edge!

It was only a 30k bet not much comparied to their stacks, just an unbeliveable blunder.
bulldog999
It was the worst play in the history of televised poker. That dude Reed might as well just pull a Bartman and disappear from the world of poker.

Could you not tell by the way he was acting that he just wanted to get it over with, one way or another? He didn't really care which way it went; that much was obvious.

His calls were poor, but if he hit, he knew it was over. That's what he wanted.
Mr. Blonde
The flush draw, if I recall correctly, he was priced in. I didn't like the call with the straight draw, but what do I know.

And I think we're forgetting how awesome a call Lasandro made at the end there with 2nd highest pair on the board. If I recall correctly, he wasn't anywhere near pot committed.

He [Ivey] was tired? Isn't this the guy that will play 30 hour sessions at the big game?

Bored? please...

You have to understand,

when your mother described my pecker to you,

it was relative to her perspective.

It only seemed small because her wet beef hole is cavernous.

As foreplay I put both hands in and clap.

You must be thinking of my grandmother, unless you're older than 21 (which I highly doubt.)

You see, my mother has been dead.

Nope, I'm 29, the time-line works out.

But, I have experience with grams too.

I'm under contract not to give anything away about that,

until the video comes out.

Oh well, some of us have a more '"sensitive" disposition than others.

Heh.

So at what age do you think you'll grow up and accept that you have a small pee pee so that you don't have to tear into other people behind a safe wall of anonymity?
