i dont really like either of the 3-bets barring no read.

Did you ever think of C/R'ing this guy and leading?

Besides the button having a big pocket I think you are good here.

I see this play a lot at 1/2 3/6 short games with AK AQ. I do also see it with 99 and 10 10.

WRTO is right about read dependent.

Mono,

There's no doubt in my mind that I'm ahead here. I'm really not that concerned that he had me beat. My thoughts were on the best way to play the hand to extract the maximum without letting him hit one of his overs cheaply.

Jayson,

I think calling the preflop raise and checkraising the flop is probably pretty standard. That would be the way I normally play it I think. I guess I had a spur of the moment thought of playing it like this. Again, the reason I posted this is b/c I thought the play was questionable. Just wondering if there are any advantages to playing it the way I did.

What advantage do you see too it the way you played it?

Jayson, I asked you first. :-)

Without a lot of time played w/ this guy I think C/R'in' the Flop is the right move really. I might be wrong but against a random 5/10 shorthanded player that is what I do.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and admit I misplayed the hand.
