SB is kind of laggy but has been giving me a decent amount of respect. Button is kind of donkish.

10/20 (5 handed)

I get 82o in the BB.
Button open limps, SB completes, I check.

flop is 568r (3sb)
Sb bets, I raise, Button calls, SB calls.

turn is a 4 completing the rainbow. (4.5BB)
SB checks, I bet, Button calls, SB folds.

River is a 2. (6.5BB)
I check, Button bets, I call.

There has to be a better way to play this. Bet/fold the river? Check/fold the turn? Check/fold the river?
BeanGW
If the turn helped the button, don't you think he'd raise you?

I'm probably bet/calling the river with two pair but maybe bet/folding depending upon whether the button is LAG Donkish or LP Donkish.

You may have just beaten A-8, 8-9, 5-6, 4-5... or plenty of other hands that will call. He's shown no aggression.

I think it's a good value bet, is that no good at 10/20?

hes a loose/passive donk.

his cold call on the flop screamed 7. That's why i check/called. I wanted to see a showdown. But i think bet/fold would be ok against this guy.

Just out of curiousity WRTO, are you playing mostly 10/20 these days. I've been reading your posts since this site was first opened, and it sounds like you've worked your way up through the ranks pretty well.

Do you still have a blog?

I plan on putting in a "welcome home" post today and writing another article.

I'm not sure about this hand.

I think a lot of players might call if they made their straight on the turn hoping to raise the river. Have you seen him do something like this before?

I don't like bet/folding this hand, but can see how it's correct against a certain type of player. He would have to raise infrequently and only with strong hands but call down with many weak hands.

Well, best of luck with the move. I don't mean to hijack your strat. thread with all this extranneous BS, but wouldn't it be easier to multitable 3/6 or 5/10 than to grind out 10/20 for ~1bb/100? Is poker is your only income... damn, that must be stressful!

Get settled in Vegas? Is this some running joke between you and Jayson? Sorry to bring gossip here, I'm just interested.

Actually, I think he's in the process of moving to vegas. Check out the blog.

lets see. the flop raise is fine. but then, if you are so confident that the button had a 7, why bet the turn? there is no way your hand is best, yet you bet into the button, who you are confident had a straight. what was your intent there? he might misclick? it's true, he might misclick.

basically on the turn i see no reason to bet/fold. check-calling loses the same amount of money, but in the rare instances that you have him beat, you are picking up money from a bluff. also, you don't need to check-call. i would probably just check-fold the turn. it seems hard to imagine that you could possibly have the best hand, especially since the small blind called the flop raise too.

okay fine, now you made it to the river against the button. i think a check-call is okay here, cause he might be playing A8 like an idiot, or maybe 56 or something. but i see no reason to represent strength that you don't have anywhere in this hand.

so, my play is: raise the flop, check-fold the turn, and then yeah.

i play 10/20 online and, yes, its my only sorce of income. Moving to vegas isnt a joke. Y'all didnt see my 8/16 at the wynn post??

Heck.yes.

Wrto put the ' at the right spot in the word "Y'all."

Way to go.

Also, I prefer check call against LAG players. If you know you're beat, this is a cheap way of seeing the showdown for information. As he is loose, you might even have rivered him when he had a better kicker.

I didn't, and I don't doubt that you are good enough to play professionally. I'd just seen the notion of "moving to vegas" being thrown around so often.
