"Generally speaking, when playing no-limit, expect to see a limp-reraiser have A-A or K-K. Occasionally you will see a limp-reraise with Q-Q or A-K, but aces or kings are the most common.
So what does this mean? In general, the best play, facing a limp-reraise, is to fold unless you have A-A. I know this advice sounds insane. I'm telling you to fold any other hand, even kings or queens, just because your opponent has put in a raise preflop. "

What does everybody think of this? I think it is kind of crazy. The people I see limp raise usually have ak. Please share your opinions on this statement. My opinion is no, but do you guys think kings should ever be folded in online nl hold'em?

Shouldn't this be in general, or bad beats, or crackpots? 8)

Actually this is strategy unlike the crap you see in general and I wanted to here from people who have good opinions on this. You won't find that in general.

I understand your reasoning for putting it here, it is the quote you have put in that I am referring to. Maybe it's just me though...

someone limp raised me in AC this weekend, i told him I no longer needed a bathroom break.
and no, i'm not folding KK everytime someone limp raises, except maybe if he raised from $4 to 4,500 or something, then I might consider it a little more

Kinda a loaded question.
I might be all in with KK before the limper.
Or so heavily in, I call for odds as much as anything.
When I have KK, I try not to overthink what a limp/re-raiser has.
so far, I have not had the AA vs KK come up..from a limp raiser...but I hear it's common.

Fold Kings? Unless I had some uncanny read that the limp re-raiser had aces, then maybe.
But 99.99% of the time, I will play the kings.
I don't think that I've ever folded Kings yet in all my hands. There have been situations in satellite tourneys where I would have, but I didn't get dealt kings.

I've folded Ks preflop once in my life, QQ twice. The only time I did was when I was lightning raised all in by a guy I had such a good read on I could have told you if he was getting enough fiber in his diet. He was called, I folded, he had AA (amusingly, called by J8o). I would not autofold here, or likely fold.

I folded kings once at a friendly nl tournament at my buddies house, but only because there was a raise, an all in, and then another all in by the tightest player at the table. He moved all in when it was my turn to act and he was shaking all over the table.

Wow great read there Hellmuth.
A limp raise DONT MEAN $HIT at any level. You cant make general strategy statments like this in poker, where every hand is diiferent based on both the players styles, hands, and a million other factors ging on.
On another note for you Greatwhite; in the last 3 weeks I have seen countless posts by you which lack thought and matter to which many care about. You have over 500 posts in less then 3 weeks. I think you need to spend less time trying to FIND something to write about in new threads or previous ones AND spend more time at the tables playing.

What he said. And I've seen tons of people limp/reraise with A-5 and K-9 and crap like that. You couldn't make me fold KK there unless I could read the guy well enough to tell you what he ate for dinner.

I'm just asking people, because this is what it suggests to do on this poker site in a nl game.
