I received e-mail yesterday informing me that the WPPA Memorial Championship of Poker scheduled for Jan. 29 at the Orleans has been cancelled. Apparently the TV coverage fell through. Maybe the program they've been showing on Game Show Network hasn't been drawing many viewers, and GSN opted out. Or maybe they never opted in for the Jan. 29 event and the organizers were looking for other coverage. Who knows. Anyway, just passing along the info.

Given what a disaster the first tournament ended up being (and that there is no more WPPA, from what I can see), I'm not surprised.

That actually works out well for me...my wife and I are staying at the Orleans next week. Now we dn't have to deal with the poker room being short-staffed.
