I had a couple of decisions PF last night with A Q and the answer wasn't instantly apparent to me. Wondering if someone could help:

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (7 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with [Qc], [Ac].
UTG raises,

Hero ...


Do I cap this? Or let it go? UTG is Tight PF, Aggressive after, MP1 not much read other than slightly LAG. Rest of the table is passive.

2 limp reraisers. I hadn't been at the table long, but they seemed to be typical .25/.50 PStars players.

Are both of these plays based on reads? or are they not close?

Hand 1 - easy to get away from this hand. You have nothing invested, so no harm in laying it down.

Hand 2 - UTG with the classic limp-re-raise screams of strength to me. It got capped by MP3, which baffles me. Brewing to be a big pot, so I think seeing the flop isnt such a bad thing here, hoping to make two pair, trips, or a flush (draw even). :wink:

No, this is an easy fold unless you're 100% sure that 4 or 5 players behind you are going to see the flop for 3 or 4 bets cold.

MP3 is goofy but being that it is only $.50, a lot of guys will throw that in with any middle or low pair or suited A when they think they'll get lots of action on later streets if they hit. UTG screams AA or KK, but I've caught people donk betting 99 and AKs before too. But you call here and get ready to fold the flop if you don't hit it pretty f-ing hard.

Not close, if you ask me. Then again I don't give .50/1 much thought, either.
