Hi, I'm new to this site and played one poker tournament. In the poker tournments in my areas casino, in the middle of the tournament the blinds get so big that even chip leader is short-stacked. I was wondering, are all tournaments like this? If not should I even play? It
s 200-400 to play with about 200 players. So when everybody's chip stacks are similar compared to the blinds it seems like very little skill is involved and you just have to wait for the cards and go all in. Any advice on how to play in this situation?

In situations like this you generally want to loosen up and see more flops. The price of poker is too expensive to be tight with the blinds being relatively large in comparison to the stack size. This is even moreso if everyone is on the short stack due to lack of chips to begin with.

does this happen in a lot of tournaments? Because in this situation the blinds are so big that if you play one or two hands you're gone. The blinds will be 500-1000 and the chip leader has 10,000 chips.
