first round in the table, no read, especially in blind play

Im BB w/ 9d7d

folds to SB who raises. I call

flop 8 icon_suit_diamond.gif 5 icon_suit_diamond.gif 5 icon_suit_club.gif

sb bets, I raise, he 3bets, I cap

turn. x (like a 2c or sumthin)

he checks, I check

river

10 icon_suit_club.gif

he bets. I fold.

what do you think? flopped a pretty good draw, I cap because of that and the fact that I can rep a five.

I dont know why I took the free river. I think that was my mistake, should I have bet or was taking the freeb correct?

I'm betting the turn as long as he isn't a calling station. But I like to chip spew. Do you have any idea what his skill level is?
idiotbocs
The flop cap is pretty bad unless you think you have 15 clean outs...i doubt it after you're 3-bet.

Not unless you bet the turn. If you're betting the turn, it's defensable as a bluff. If you check the turn, it's just spewing chips.

no. the flop cap is spewing. i don't think you have any clean pair outs so you are just looking at teh flush and gutshot outs being most clean

I dunno how strong he really is since he checks the turn after being capped.. if he had trips with a medium kicker he would have to bet out on the turn to see where he was at.. the cap is good on the flop if he checks and you bet on the turn.. I think you could've taken it down with a tbet
