I live in Arkansas and I'm thinking of making the three and a half hour trek to Tunica to check out the poker rooms. I'm looking to play limit holdem in a 4/8 or 5/10 game. What are the good rooms to play in. I've seen the grand poker room, and it looks like they use automatic shufflers there and from my black jack playing days I am suspicious of automatic shufflers. I don't mind playing against loose players, calling stations etc... I'm just looking for a good room. I played poker last weekend in Vicksburgh, MS at the Horizon casino in a 3/6 game and the room was terrible. The dealer accidently turned over a players cards for a second and I saw the cards. I told the dealer I saw the cards and he didn't do anything. Players repeatedly turned there cards over when they folded and nothing was done about it. Also has anyone played at the Hollywood in Shreveport, LA. I'm thinking of going there as well.

Tunica is really busy right now with the tourneys going on at Grand and Horseshoe. I usually play at Horseshoe but it gets so crowded in there on the weekends. Gold Strike is the same solid games real crowded. The Grand does use shuffle machines and they are VERY cheap with comps the want five hours of play just for a meal. Hollywood has good 3-6 and they have 2-4 at Sams Town. It just depends on what kind of mood you are in. If you can wait a while for your seat go to Horseshoe or Gold Strike.

Goldstike and Horseshoe both have good, well run poker rooms. The Goldstrike has rate of $25 and $35 for either 5 or 6 hours play a day, plus you can get a meal comp. I normally stay and play at Goldstrike.

The two casinos are connected by a covered walkway.

The Holloywood Poker Room is not well lit and noisy. The Grand is OK.
