Typically i go to casino morongo (www.casinomorongo.com)... but it takes quite a long time to drive there, I was wondering if anyone knew of any cardrooms closer to the orange county area.

I was actually gonna make a thread asking about the morongo poker room. Is it pretty nice or what? I know they just redid the whole casino and I was wondering if it was any good because im staying there on saturday night

To answer your question. I live in Placentia if your familiar with it so im in orange county. I just turned 21 a couple months ago. Before that I would go to Barona(18+) which is still a long drive but I think a little closer than Morongo . Or Hawaiian Gardens Its 21+ but i went there since I was like 19 and never had any problems playing there. Also Pechanga's new room is pretty sick I went there for like 6 months before I turned 21 and you might not have any problems there either. Lake elsinore(21+) which is off the 15 on the way to Pechanga. Its a little place and you definately wont have problems its mainly locals there but they dont have tons of games going.

I guess i really only named one thats 18+ but there really arent any around here. But honestly you shouldnt have any problems at the ones I listed especially HG.And if you could post what you think about morongo it would be appreciated

the new casino is very very nice. They are changing the cardoom right now i believe, expanding it, because it was kind of small before. They've got a lot of tables though, and I really enjoy playing there. me and a few friends are gonna get a room there and stay for a few nights. really nice place, you'll enjoy it.

There's Chumash Casino... www.chumashcasino.com - not too close to OC but it might be closer than Morongo.

For my money, the best poker room in So. Cal. aside from the big boys in LA (Commerce, Bicycle, and Hustler) is Pechanga.

They just opened it a few months ago, and it is unbelievable. I think they have about 50-60 tables, and almost an equal number of giant screen TVs suspended from the ceiling or hanging on the walls.

They run two daily $20/$5 tournies (T-Th-Sa the AM game is NLHE, the evening game is LHE, reverse it on M-W-F) aside from the multitude of cash games they run 24/7. The daily tournies have a minimum guarantee of $2,000, but it usually exceeds that easily as I haven't played in an event there with less than 200+ people.

As an aside, they are running the Pechanga Open from 2/10-2/13 with buy-ins ranging from $100/$10 to $500/$40. They are running daily STT at 4:00 & 5:00 for $56 that serve as satellites for the $540 main on 2/13.

Come to think of it, they should hire me to be their poker ambassador :-) .

Hope to see you there,
Lee

You can say that. Chumash is about 3-4 hours away from OC. However, it is a decent Poker Room especially if you're 18. i have frequented that room many a time during my late nights at UCSB.

Morongo is a very nice room however, since it is small, it is hard to get on a table especially on weekend nights. The one thing I do like about the morongo room is that it is in an actual room that is closed off from the main casino floor. my friend actually went to morongo last weekend and he said the wait for the 2/4 was 70 deep. Yes. 70 people waiting in line to play 2/4!! I haven't been to Pechanga yet. BUT, i think i might make a trip this weekend.

LOL yeah the wait for the 2-4 on the weekends is crazy. That's why when I play there......I don't play 2-4!!

Chumash is triple the distance than Morongo is from Orange County. I live in Simi Valley and its a 2 hour drive to either Monrongo and Chumash. And by the way Pechanga is a 21+.

I believe the new San Manuel Indian Casino just opened on January 28th and they have a poker room now. Unfortunately, I just checked and it's 21 and over and it's 54 miles away from Anaheim. Anyway, here's the website if anyone is interested...
