Okay - I'm in late position and get Kh Qs.
Two players limp in in front of me, I raise 1.5 times blind(blinds are 50/100)
small blind folds, big blind calls, one of the limpers calls.
Flop comes Ah, 10d, Js
limper checks, I bet 400. BB folds. Limper calls.
Turn comes 8h. Limper checks, I bet 900, limper calls.
River comes 3H. Limper checks, I stop to ponder for a second....This guy couldn't have possibly been hoping to pull the flush, right? I put him on A10....
I bet 900 again - leaving me with 200 chips left. Limper calls and turns over 9h6h.
I almost poop myself. Then he makes a comment - "stupid rookie"..
It was everything I could do not to freak out and pull a Hellmuth, but instead just shook my head and said Nice hand.
I guess there was nothing I could have done there.....I bet hard trying to make the guy trying to draw fold, I think I played this right.
Any way anyone else would have played this?

I'm probably pushing allin on the turn, if he calls that with that wimpy flush draw, well he's going to be a long term loser anyway, so I don't worry about it too much
Btw...raise more preflop!! I'm making this 500 at least

If you really wanted to make him fold, you should have pushed or at least overbet the pot.
That river bet was horrible.

I don't like wimpy preflop raises. Define the hand a little more by making a bet closer to 3-4x the size of the BB. Otherwise, hands like 9h-6h aren't making a mistake by calling the raise.
I don't mind the flop bet. I don't hate the flop but, but betting less than half the size of the pot is always a little suspicious. Then again, your main concern is getting value here, so no problem
Everything else is fine. You know that, too. If you want sympathy, but it in the bad beat section.

Really? It would be pretty tough to put this guy on hearts, here. I think it would be terrible to check and let somebody w/a weak hand see a showdown for free. Value bet that river; you're ahead much of the time against a shitty ace.

Betting 900 when you have an 1100 stack is horrible. Of course, there shouldn't even be a discussion of the river play IMO.

Thanks for the input guys.
Yeah - had I bet stronger pre-flop, I doubt I would have had this issue.
hands like KQ and Qj I have difficulty betting so hard preflop, though, they are hands that typically get me into trouble.
As to the river bet....I seriously had him pegged for A10 or AJ(more than likely A10, though, I would suspect someone to raise preflop with Aj, A10 is more of a calling hand, I think), so I wanted to either make him fold, or get some more chips out of him. Hindsight being 20/20, sure I should have checked, but I just couldn't see him staying with me on a flush draw - his chip stack was right around where mine was, btw. I guess we could have just checked to turning over our cards, but I can't play that way with the best hand.... Maybe I'm looking at this wrong though.

The only part of this hand that is horrible is the PF part.
Raising 1.5x the blinds is NEVER an option in NL holdem.

I'm hungover and struggling to get a grasp on what you're saying. Are you saying betting is horrible, or leaving yourself with 200 chips is horrible?
If it's the latter, I agree wholeheartedly.
If it's the former, I'd be curious as to your explanation.

Agreed, leaving yourself with 200 chips here is pretty silly.
But in regards to the bet itself, you should know how easy this bet is.
I hope that isn't what you were calling horrible.
