Full Version: my execution of the nuts.

Well, the flopped nuts that is.

Is this pretty basic? The reason I'm pushing after the re/raise behind me is primarily cause not only do I have "the" nuts, I also am playing a Pokerroom which is the biggest calling station site next to Party.

Maybe.

ANTES/BLINDS

cheeto 33 posts blind ($0.50), Jakester33 posts blind ($1).

PRE-FLOP
xxx lucky 1 bets $2, caicos folds, joaquinv folds, Bardikus2 folds, Jord4n calls $2, hojo31 calls $2, moosetrial folds, cheeto 33 calls $1.50, Jakester33 calls $1.

FLOP [board cards 10C,9D,QS ]

cheeto 33 bets $3, Jakester33 folds, xxx lucky 1 folds, Jord4n calls $3, hojo31 bets $15, cheeto 33 calls $12, Jord4n bets $73 and is all-in, hojo31 calls $61, cheeto 33 calls $29.75 and is all-in.

At this point I figure one for a set.

TURN [board cards 10C,9D,QS,AD ]

RIVER [board cards 10C,9D,QS,AD,9C ]

I think I've lost here...

SHOWDOWN

Jord4n shows [ KS,JC ]
hojo31 shows [ QD,AS ]
cheeto 33 mucks cards [ JS,QH ]
Jord4n wins $62.50, Jord4n wins $141.25.

I think it's pretty basic, but I would imagine most normal people fold QJ with that much action.

you played that horribly and were lucky to get paid off and fold preflop.

Not folding that PF to a guy I'd been playing with for the past 2 hours.

He was opening with too many hands. He was also passive. I like playing passive players and didn't mind putting in $2 here.

Anyways, how would you have played the flop? Again, I pushed cause this is Pokerroom and they have horrid players. I play this flop different at UB.

I think they played it considerably "worse" than I did.

This table was pretty passive, and I figured with this much action I'd be called in a least one spot if I pushed in here. Seriously, super passive. I was always pushing the action.

Of course I was "lucky" to get paid off in two spots, but that is what happens when you play with idiots.

That all in was such a bad move it was brilliant.
Jordan
Maybe you guys play higher limits than me regularly? Meaning you have to "trick" players. These guys were bad, but ya, I could see me moving in to early.

I'm curious here. I was fine with my play, moving in, cause even though I can give many free cards here and be fine both these guys were horrible.

Should I have waited till the turn since I am holding the nuts?

Let them drive the action or raise the turn. Either way you're going to end up all in - you don't want to scare em off.
Jordan
Yea, my play really could scared em' off. I agree.

I'll have to calm myself down later.

I was just surprised at the action, this was a "big" raise for these players and table. I'm sure if I woulda called here and moved the turn they still woulda stuck around.

Thanks for thoughts. It's weird how most UB players fold this hand in an instant, and PR players are calling all in with QJo.

Again, at UB I'm playing this hand completely different. But yea, I do think I still should/could of waited till the turn here.
