Ok so I checked out the new River City Casino last night and I had a semi-interesting hand come up. Pretty confident in my play but just checking my line.

Reads on Villain is he is a drunk aggro-donk. He had been at the table for about 20 hands or so and had raised 18 of them pf. He actually doubled me up in his very first hand AQ vs ?? on an A high flop. I say ?? cause when I moved in on the flop he called but never showed his hand...just knuckled the table and rebought. I'm sitting at about 225 at start of hand. Villain covers.

9-handed

UTG calls 3
UTG +1 calls 3
MP calls 3
MP+1 folds
HJ calls 3
Co (villain) makes it 15
Hero calls 15 with two black 9's
UTG calls 12
UTG calls 12
MP calls 12
HJ calls 12

Pot 90

Flop 10 8 7 rainbowed

Everyone checks to CO who throws out a black chip and announces "$75."

I took a quick look around the table and everyone pretty much looked like they couldn't fold fast enough. Then I took a look at Villain. He was sitting back in his chair which his arms across his chest and he looked just scared out of his mind. Once he noticed I was staring him down he suddenly started really trying hard like he was confident.

None of that even really mattered but it did help with my decision because it led me to believe that a certain percentage of the time my 99's could be good as well as my straight draw.

Obviously just calling was awful so it was either push (I was sitting on 210) or fold. So I sucked it up shoved.

Everyone ok with this?

I'll give results in a little bit if anyone is interested.

He has to have a set of 10's , T9 J9, or 69 for this play to be wrong... against everything else it's a +EV shove even when called

edt: well you're not in horrific shape against an underset but it's slightly -EV... whatever it's still an easy shove

Shoving here is fine......based on your analysis of the hand, im gonna say villain had A 9 and you guys chopped it up
rrumsey
you could have isolated with a 3 bet and made this a very easy push on the flop. attack the dead money pre!

How did he double you but you only have 225? What was it 100 max?

EZ shove, btw. Any thoughts on a 3-bet pre? It came across me but I think with 1000 limpers we can call figuring so will they and get tremendous pot odds. Had there only be 1 or 2 limpers I might 3 bet this.

Yes

and I felt pretty confident in my play I just wanted to check and see what you guys thought.

And the results were.....10 hits turn, J hits river. I flipped over my 99 and Villain, not noticing the straight goes, "Nines are good" and mucks his hand...lol.
